Hilton bets on Africa with new Lagos airport hotel

Hilton continues to invest heavily in Africa with the announcement that its Lagos airport hotel will open in the first quarter of 2023.

The Hilton Lagos Airport Hotel will join the neighbouring Legend Hotel Lagos Airport, Curio Collection by Hilton in expanding Hilton’s key count the Nigerian capital.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide, spoke of Hilton’s plans in Nigeria, saying, “With a population of more than 16 million, Lagos is the seventh-fastest growing city in the world and the second largest in Africa, with much of the nation’s wealth and economic activity concentrated here.”

“Strong growth is forecasted in both domestic and international travellers using Murtala Muhammed International Airport, so this exemplary new hotel will be well placed to meet traveller’s needs, offering an unparalleled level of design, comfort and service,” he went on to say.

Hilton is pulling out all the stops for this new-build, 5-star hotel. Luxury is the name of the game at Hilton Lagos Airport Hotel, and guests will be wowed by the property as soon as they set their eyes on it.

The hotel takes the form of an oval and accommodation is housed around the perimeter, while facilities and amenities such as luscious gardens with a canopy of palm fronds, elevated walkways through lush vegetation, cascading pools and calm bathing areas can be found on various levels of this impressively designed hotel.

Set over several levels, the property takes advantage of the differences in height and uses external decks, atria and sunken lobbies to create a variety of spaces that are designed to wow visitors.
