Sheraton has entered the Al Khobar market with a 580-room hotel now under construction

THP.News is excited to spotlight Sheraton Al Khobar Al Hamra as this week’s Project of the Week—a major milestone for Al Khobar and the Sheraton brand. Now officially under construction, this hotel development signals Sheraton’s debut in the city and reflects the rapid evolution of Saudi Arabia’s hospitality landscape.

A strategic addition to the eastern province

The Sheraton Al Khobar Al Hamra marks a strategic collaboration between Marriott International, Ashaad Company, and Aleph Hospitality, bringing the renowned Sheraton brand to one of Saudi Arabia’s most dynamic cities. Scheduled to open in 2028, the hotel is positioned to become a key player in Al Khobar’s tourism and business sectors.

Located near Al Shbaily Mall and close to the King Fahd Causeway—a major link between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain—the hotel will offer exceptional accessibility for regional travelers. Its 580 guestrooms and suites will reflect Sheraton’s refreshed identity, focusing on modern design, technology-enabled spaces, and welcoming communal areas.

Delivering Sheraton’s new vision

The Sheraton Al Khobar Al Hamra is being designed to meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers. From innovative dining concepts to modern event spaces and relaxing recreational amenities, the hotel promises a well-rounded experience. Key features will include the following:

  • Three distinctive dining venues aligned with Sheraton’s refreshed F&B vision
  • Versatile social spaces including &More by Sheraton, Studios, Booths, and the Sheraton Club Lounge
  • Expansive business facilities, such as modern meeting rooms, banquet halls, and dedicated business zones
  • Recreational amenities like a state-of-the-art fitness center, spa, swimming pool, and kids club

Tariq Dowidar, Vice President KSA, Aleph Hospitality, said, “We are honored to be entrusted with the management of what will be a landmark hotel in Al Khobar. This will be our third property in collaboration with Marriott International in the Middle East, and we look forward to welcoming the first guests and providing them with the exceptional guest experience Sheraton is world-renowned for.”
