THP’s Project of the Week is the upcoming Hard Rock Hotel in Malta, which will be a seafront hotel at the scenic St. George’s Bay. It’s slated for opening in early 2026.

A homage to history

The Hard Rock Hotel Malta will pay homage to the original 19th-century British military accommodation quarters it is built on top of. The hotel will feature 370 rooms, with 110 suites offering balcony views of the Maltese seaside.

It will be part of a new mixed-use development called db City Centre, which includes a shopping mall, luxury residences and modern office spaces.

Hard Rock Hotel Malta is to be located in a highly sought-after part of the popular tourist spot, St George’s Bay. Called St. Julian’s, the area is soon becoming a favourite among tourists and locals.

The property is managed by the famed Hard Rock International, known for its Cafes and Hotels worldwide.

A new hotspot for St George’s Bay

The hotel will also have multiple high-end food and beverage establishments. This includes a multi-course signature restaurant and a rooftop lounge with a Skybar.

Additional amenities include several pools, a 16,000-square-foot full-service spa, and a fitness centre.

The hotel will also cater to both business and leisure travellers and will be fully equipped with space to host a broad range of events and groups. There will be over 37,000 square feet of planned function space, including the largest convention centre on the island.

The architects behind the project are MYGG Architecture, while interiors were handled by Jestico + Whiles.
