The Eddy Taproom & Hotel makes a splash in Colorado

For its new property in Golden, Denver-based CoralTree Hospitality Group has drawn inspiration from local mining history and the scheme’s proximity to Clear Creek.

The Eddy Taproom & Hotel, which lies at the point where the Great Plains meet the Rockies, takes its name from the river respites where kayakers and whitewater rafters rest between bursts of activity.

A reflection of its surroundings

Influenced by its setting, this new hotel pairs a lively atmosphere, comfortable space and welcoming service with access to the varied outdoor pursuits of Golden and the Colorado Rockies.

The 49-key boutique property is located on the site of the old Golden Fire Brick Company, which dates back to the 1860s, near Clear Creek. This four-storey property pairs its original brickwork and industrial feel with a resort-like atmosphere; interiors combining contemporary design with vintage accents are home to The Taproom and two rooftop patios.

“Everything about The Eddy is a nod to the region’s history and the outdoor lifestyle that Golden is known for,” said John Drugan, general manager of The Eddy.

An immersive local experience

Guests staying here can explore The Taproom’s 100-Mile Cocktail programme, highlighting ingredients produced exclusively within a 100-mile radius of the property. These cocktails can be enjoyed by one of the hotel’s firepits with corn from The Eddy’s Popcorn Cart.

The hotel’s Rise & Relax programme, meanwhile, features custom relaxation videos created in partnership with Rise Yoga in Golden. These relaxation techniques are accessed via an in-room QR code and complemented by the hotel’s yoga classes.

Culinary experiences at the hotel include barbecue and shakes from the property’s food truck, which can be enjoyed on picnic tables and the lawn, along with seasonal, locally inspired menus and craft beer at The Taproom. The Taproom’s creative drink programme, moreover, includes barrel-aged and smoked cocktails as well as cold-brew coffee.

Guests can also make use of the onsite fitness centre and generous event space.
