Kalindi Juneja will join Pride of Britain Hotels, the 50-strong collection of independently owned hotels around Great Britain, from Relais & Châteaux in October 2021.

A high-profile industry figure has been lined up to take the helm at Pride of Britain Hotels.

A new chapter

Kalindi Juneja is set to join Pride of Britain Hotels on 4 October 2021, succeeding current CEO Peter Hancock, who is retiring after helping grow the collection to 50 independently owned hotels since taking over in 2000. She will work alongside Hancock to ensure a smooth transition before he departs on 15 November at the annual conference.

Hancock said: “I have no doubt that Kalindi will take Pride of Britain to new heights over the coming years. And, if I’m allowed a little boast, it is that our efforts over the last two decades have made the organisation fit to attract a candidate of such quality.”

Making the switch from Relais & Châteaux

Juneja is joining Pride of Britain Hotels from Relais & Châteaux, where she was recruited in 2017 to manage the brand in the UK and Ireland. From that initial role, Juneja was promoted to a global role as international director. She has almost 20 years’ experience in the industry, with a particular focus on marketing, sales and communication.

Pride of Britain Hotels chairman Sue Williams, who is also managing director of Whatley Manor in Wiltshire, said: “When Peter informed us that it was his time to retire, we went through the full gambit of emotions – mostly the feeling of how might we ever get close to replacing him. However, we are absolutely delighted to be able to announce that our new CEO, Kalindi Juneja, joins us in October, bringing a wealth of experience that will, we are confident, help Pride of Britain Hotels to keep ahead of the game in its field.”

Pride of Britain Hotels has continued to grow during the pandemic, with four hotels, such as the new Haycock Manor Hotel in Cambridgeshire, joining over the last 12 months. The organisation’s non-executive board also includes Jason Adams (managing director, Rockliffe Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa), Stas Anastasiades (operations director, Maison Talbooth), Craig Bancroft (managing director, Northcote), Jill Chalmers (managing director, Glenapp Castle), Mark Chambers (group managing director, Eden Hotel Collection / Bovey Castle), Ross Grieve (managing director, Seaham Hall), Neil Kedward (owner, Grove of Narberth), Michele Mella (general manager and director, Barnsley House), Andrew McPherson (general manager, Grantley Hall), Dan Rose-Bristow (owner, The Torridon) and Andrew Thomason (managing director, Gravetye Manor).
