This sprawling 785-key newbuild in Southwest Florida, which will boast an 18-hole golf course and a staggering 19 F&B concepts, has started accepting reservations from May 2023 onwards.

Excitement is building in Port Charlotte as Floridians eagerly await the arrival of a huge new hospitality scheme.

A milestone opening

Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor, set to become the first newbuild resort with over 300 rooms to open in Southwest Florida in more than 13 years, has begun taking guest reservations from May 2023. Allegiant Travel Company’s first full resort experience will incorporate a staggering 785 keys, including 189 luxury suites.

“We could not be more excited to open up reservations for our future guests,” said Sunseeker Resorts executive vice president and chief operating officer Micah Richins. “This project is the culmination of years of brainstorming, planning and constructing a property that will undoubtedly elevate Floridian hospitality.

“With dynamic culinary offerings, well-curated guest activities and a world-class golf course, we look forward to welcoming the world to our destination resort.”

Abundant lifestyle amenities

On completion, the resort will offer 19 F&B outlets, two pools including a 117,000 sq ft ground-level experience and an adults-only rooftop retreat, shops on a harbour walk, a 7,100 sq ft fitness centre with four group exercise studios, and a full-service spa.

A real highlight of the property promises to be its 18-hole, Kip Schulties-designed golf course open exclusively to hotel guests. Meanwhile, events will be hosted across 60,000 sq ft of function space, including two ballrooms, two executive boardrooms, 12 meeting rooms and an ideation suite with three breakout rooms.

The resort’s accommodation ranges from coastal-inspired premium rooms to luxurious Sunsuites with one to three bedrooms. Each suite is to feature a chef-level kitchen with Sub-Zero/Wolf appliances, an entertaining area and a spacious balcony – guests will also benefit from a separate check-in experience and private lounge access.

Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is located just ten minutes from Punta Gorda Airport.
