An independent luxury Caribbean resort on the island of Eleuthera is to overhaul its restaurant, recreation and accommodation areas.

The Cove Eleuthera in the Bahamas will reopen on 7 November with upgraded lodgings and a top-to-bottom transformation of the onsite Freedom Restaurant & Grill.

Interior facelift

California-based BAR Architects & Interiors has been tapped to re-envision the resort’s new look, which is aimed at marrying elements of its natural, oceanfront surroundings with casual and contemporary flair.

Reopening with its current inventory of 27 premium villas, the refreshed interiors will feature a colour palette of ivory and indigo with natural wood accents that emulate Eleuthera’s pristine white beaches and turquoise waters. Woven straw mats and rustic yet sophisticated furnishings will adorn each villa.

Dining design

Designed to be the resort’s focal point, Freedom Restaurant & Grill, serving Asian-inspired cuisine, will see a complete overhaul for a reimagined dining experience. Interiors will feature a warm weathered teak palette and natural textures accented with lush greenery hanging above patrons to mimic the island’s limestone cliffs. Colours draw inspiration from the Caribbean islands, Atlantic Ocean and ripe pineapples found in nearby Gregory Town.

Consisting of three new structures, Freedom will feature a central sushi bar and an elegant bar area overlooking the hilltop pool. Floor-to-ceiling windows will provide panoramic waterfront views.

Wellness revamp

Additionally, The Cove will introduce a refurbished fitness and wellness experience. The onsite gym will feature brand new Technogym equipment as well as a separate room for guided yoga classes.

Carlton Russell, MD of The Cove, said: “The enhancements we have planned will further solidify The Cove as the premier resort destination on Eleuthera. With elevated dining, accommodations, programming, and of course, our serene location, we look forward to unveiling The Cove’s upgrades in November.”
