Accor gives Fairmont Indian altitude

Accor is expanding its Fairmont Hotels & Resorts portfolio in India with the signing of a new 105-key luxury resort in Fagu, Shimla.

Fairmont Shimla Fagu is expected to open its doors in 2026 and will be newly built on a ~2.5-acre hilltop plot of land at an altitude of 2,400 m.

Banqueting boon

Once launched, the new property will feature ~5,500 sq ft of banqueting and events space, entertainment spaces, an indoor pool and spa, and multiple food and beverage outlets.

For this hotel, Accor is partnering with RTM Hotels Private Limited, a special purpose vehicle promoted by the Nagrath family that has business interests in real estate and hospitality in Northern India.

Luxurious amenities

Prospective pipeline

Accor currently operates 430 properties (over 93,008 keys) across India, the Middle East, Africa and Turkey, with another 192 properties (over 41,230 keys) in the pipeline.

The latest signing will be the fourth Fairmont property in India, following Fairmont Jaipur, which opened in 2012, Fairmont Mumbai, which is currently under construction, and Fairmont Udaipur, which is due for completion in Q3 2024.
