Robyn is already heading up the team at the remote 25-suite luxury lodge on Australia’s Kangaroo Island.
She joins the growing Baillie Lodges portfolio of lodges as part of a more than twenty-year career in hospitality, which has included resort General Manager roles in some of the world’s most sought-after tourism destinations.
Robyn brings to the role extensive experience in luxury resorts in Southeast Asia and Australia’s tropical north, including 13 years with the Mantra group at Peppers Beach Club & Spa at Palm Cove, Port Douglas and Palm Bay in Queensland, Peppers Seminyak in Indonesia, and Peppers Craigieburn in New South Wales.
Robyn also spent six years exploring Vietnam while leading the Life Resorts group of wellness retreat teams.
Southern Ocean Lodge has just been rebuilt following Australia’s devastating 2019-2020 bushfires and brings a new look to the property while retaining elements of the original hotel.
Baillie Lodges Chief Operating Officer Craig Bradbery said the team at Southern Ocean Lodge was delighted to welcome Robyn to the leadership role.
“With her love of travel and long career in luxury resorts and tourism, Robyn has slotted in effortlessly with the Baillie Lodges family,” Mr Bradbery said.
Baillie Lodges is a growing portfolio of luxury lodges renowned for setting benchmarks in premium experiential travel.
Based in Australia, the collection includes Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island, Longitude 131° at Uluru-Kata Tjuta, Capella Lodge on Lord Howe Island, Silky Oaks Lodge at the Daintree Rainforest, and The Louise in the Barossa Valley.
In 2019, an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners acquired Baillie Lodges intending to further expand the unique collection of luxury lodges.
The partnership enabled the collection’s first set of international properties, adding Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge on Canada’s Vancouver Island and New Zealand’s Huka Lodge, alongside Chile’s Tierra Atacama, Tierra Chiloé and Tierra Patagonia.
