Radisson Hotel Group has signed a trio of hotels in the Philippines, strengthening its portfolio across south east Asia.
The additions, in Cauayan City, Olongapo and Dasmarinas, will all trade under Radisson’s upper midscale Park Inn brand, and between them add up to 450 more rooms in the country for the group.
Working with a local partner
All three hotels will be developed by SM Hotels & Conventions Corp, and will all utilise a similar format, being developed alongside shopping destinations. Using a common footprint, each development will be a hotel with 151 rooms, featuring a pool deck, lounge and kids’ pool.
Park Inn by Radisson Cauayan Isabela will open in the first half of 2027, and will be the first internationally branded hotel in the city, on Luzon Island. It will be developed above an existing shopping mall, which is itself going to be expanded to meet the needs of a growing volume of shoppers. The hotel will have 151 rooms, also featuring a lobby bar, swimming pool and deck, meeting and private dining rooms.
Next to open, in late 2027, will be Park Inn by Radisson Dasmarinas once again with 151 rooms and built as part of an extension of the SM City Dasmarinas shopping mall. And following on in early 2028 will be Park Inn by Radisson Olongapo Central, sited in the emerging coastal destination.
“These three hotels will be an outstanding addition to the SMHCC portfolio as it forays into newly-emerging important destinations in the country,” said Peggy Angeles, executive vice president of SM Hotels & Conventions. “The anticipated opening of these properties underscores the expansion of our hotel group and will be an added boost for the Philippine hospitality industry.”
Building on the existing pipeline
Ahead of these openings, Radisson has six hotels operating in the Philippines. The group has one Radisson Blu branded hotel in Cebu, and a further five Park Inn properties in Davao, Clark, Iloilo, Quezon and Bacolod. There is also a strong existing pipeline signed. Three hotels are already planned in Cebu, being a Radisson RED, Radisson and Park Inn.
Further afield, there is a Radisson Collection hotel due to launch in Boracay, and a hotel in Bohol due to join the Radisson Individuals collection brand. There are also plans for a Radison Blu hotel and residences project, in Cagayan de Oro. Expected to be complete in 2028, this project will become a new landmark in the coastal city.
Elsewhere in Asia, Radisson has considerable signing momentum in India, where in June 2024, the group signed 10 new hotels in just four days. These included hotels in five new markets, delivering the first internationally branded hotels in Jawai, Sagar, Yavatmal, Ooty and Calicut. In addition, a signing at Nathdwara stadium in Rajasthan will see construction of an innovative Radisson Blu hotel that overlooks the cricket ground, providing many guests with a view of the playing surface from their rooms.
