As Vietnam looks to substantially grow its tourism economy, Radisson looks to play its part, with a pipeline of new hotels

Radisson Hotel Group has signed a further hotel in Vietnam, as it looks to exploit the country’s growing tourism sector.

The Radisson Blu Hotel in Ha Long Bay is expected to open under its new branding by mid 2025, with 352 rooms in a striking 30 storey block, designed to pay homage to sailing ships of the past. High on the 28th floor there will be a presidential suite, while guests will have the choice of four bars, and two restaurants.

Other amenities in the hotel will include a 500 capacity conference and event space, and a luxury spa with swimming pool on the hotel’s sixth floor. The hotel is being developed by Quang Ninh Investment and Tourism Joint Stock Company.

Growing to meet tourism demand in Vietnam

For Radisson, the addition underlines the group’s commitment to expanding operations in Vietnam, a country where it already has six hotels operational, including the recently launched Radisson RED Danang, plus a further six in development.

International hotel groups are all looking to build their networks in Vietnam, as the country looks to progressively grow its tourism sector. In 2024, the country welcomed 17.5 million visitors from overseas, representing 98% of the level achieved prior to the pandemic and demonstrating a stronger recovery than nearby Singapore and Thailand. For 2025, the aim is to grow that international visitor figure to more than 22 million.

To help encourage more international visitors, authorities in Vietnam have a plan to grow the country’s current 22 airports to 30 by 2030. Of these, 14 will support international flights, making it easier for foreign tourists to discover more of the country’s attractions.

The most recent opening for Radisson in Vietnam was in February 2025, when the Radisson Blu Resort Hoi An started receiving its first guests. The beachfront property in Quang Nam province features 674 rooms plus 66 private villas which will be opening later in 2025. Large, luxurious rooms with balconies are just a short walk from the beach and swimming pools.

A strong pipeline of new resorts

During 2025, the group will be launching Radisson Resort Mui Ne, a 128 room property on Suoi Nuoc Beach. The destination is towards the southern end of the country, and is a location ideal for guests to simply take a dip in the ocean.

Further ahead, projects in the pipeline include the 225 room luxury Radisson Blu Resort, Ho Tram. The southerly coastal destination, in Xuyen Moc District is only around 125km from Ho Chi Minh City, making for easy travel connections for international visitors. Expected to open in 2028, the hotel will be part of a larger coastal mixed use development that will include a yacht club and private residences. The destination will also present guests with a nearby casino, golf course Hamptons Pier, reckoned to be the longest pier in Asia.
