KSL Resorts brings in business development and investment head

KSL Resorts, KSL Capital Partners’ independent management company, has recruited a new director of investments and business development.

In this position, Dhruv (DJ) Jain is charged with managing deal flow and underwriting to help grow and diversify KSL Resorts’ portfolio.

Seasoned professional

A seasoned commercial real estate and hospitality industry professional, Jain has a strong background in finance, commercial real estate, asset management and hotel operations.

He was most recently vice president of Stratton Road Realty, overseeing the entire investment management process from sourcing, underwriting, acquisition due diligence to asset management and disposition for the Orange County-based real estate solutions company.

Investment background

Prior to this was vice president of investments at Skeiron Real Estate – where he oversaw the acquisition of 15 hotels nationwide – as well as a hospitality investment consultant for REVPAR International and a food and beverage manager for Trump International Hotel & Tower.

Jain holds a bachelor of arts degree in hotel management from Kendall College and an MBA. in finance and real estate from Georgetown University. Additionally, he holds a Swiss diploma from Les Roches’ International School of Hotel Management.

Optimal mix

According to Michael Palmeri, senior vice president and chief investment officer of KSL Resorts, Jain offers an optimal mix of hotel operations, consulting, asset management and transactional experience, making him an ideal team member as KSL Resorts focuses on future growth.

“DJ is coming in to play a key role in the evaluation and transaction of new investments on behalf of KSL Resorts and our respective capital partners,” he said. “Not only does he bring a diverse professional background, DJ brings great energy, an analytical mindset and strategic thinking to further our growth initiatives.”

Constant expansion

KSL Resorts now manages 45 properties across the US, including the addition of five Florida properties earlier this year.

The group’s investment firm, KSL Capital Partners, is currently bankrolling several European developments including a pair of edyn properties, Locke de Santa Joanna Lisbon in the Portuguese capital and Locke Zurich in Switzerland. The investor is also involved in two Beaumier Hotels & Resorts projects in Bern, Switzerland: Hotel Belvedere and Wengener Hof.
