Hotel group CitizenM has added a co-working offer for its guests. Space specifically designed for working alone or in small teams has been created at all 34 hotels across the brand’s international portfolio in Europe and North America.
The company has created inspiring spaces within its hotels, based around comfort and functionality with furniture supplied by Vitra, and a design to allow for flexible use. Creativity is at the core, while natural daylight has been a key consideration in planning the spaces. Superfast wifi is a given, while users can also order food and drinks, and if needed can reserve meeting rooms for private team sessions.
Growing demand for flexible working
“We are seeing increasing demand for remote work and flexible working environments, and citizenM hotels are perfectly designed to serve these needs,” said Robin Chad, chief brand officer at CitizenM. “Whether you’re a local seeking a more inspiring, dynamic place to do your work, or a founder looking to scale their business to a new market and needing a homebase, our new co-working proposition, available through an accessible membership programme, offers solutions for any type of guest or traveller.”
CitizenM joins a number of other hotel groups offering flexible workspaces. Accor has partnered with Wojo, and is building out co-working in its hotels; lean luxury brand Ruby even has standalone co-working at several European locations; and in the UK, Village Hotels has built workspace into many of its hotels.
CitizenM has made the co-working package available within its membership, priced at USD120, EUR100 or GBP90 per year. Within that, members also enjoy discounts on drinks, food and room bookings. In addition, there are room stay discounts and other benefits such as late checkout and room upgrades.
The portfolio grows
The group continues to expand its international hotel portfolio, with openings scheduled for late 2024 in Miami South Beach, the third CitizenM in the city, and Boston Back Bay.
In Europe, the pipeline includes London Olympia, another hotel in the UK capital for the brand which will be part of a mixed use development including a new live music venue. A 145 room property will be ready for opening in late 2025. In Dublin, a 245 room hotel is expected to launch in early 2025, while a site in Milan is also in planning. The group is also doubling down on its presence in the US market, with a 2025 opening likely for a new hotel in Georgetown, Washington DC.
