Asia is proving to be a particular focus for the brand with Vietnam expecting the most new Movenpick hotel openings.
Global growth
The TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database reveals 33 projects in the pipeline for Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, with seven of these hotels, comprising 2,006 rooms, expected to open in 2022.
The brand plans to launch 10 hotels with 2,426 rooms in 2023, followed by four hotel launches with 702 rooms between them in 2024 and 12 properties with 2,797 rooms in 2025 and beyond.
Of these projects, Asia will welcome 12 hotels with 3,042 rooms, the Middle East will welcome eight hotels with 2,330 rooms, Europe will welcome eight hotels with 1,205 rooms and Africa is set to welcome five hotels with 1,354 rooms.
Vietnam is the country with the most upcoming Movenpick openings as it looks forward to five openings with a total of 1,112 rooms.
Exciting new lifestyle destinations
Highlights among these openings include the June 2022 opening Movenpick Resort Al Marjan Island and the second quarter of 2023 opening Movenpick Hotel Centaurus Islamabad.
The 418-key Movenpick Resort Al Marjan Island will place guests in a prime beachfront location of Ras Al Khaimah with views of the Arabian Gulf. The resort is a central part of the new lifestyle destination, Al Marjan Island, consisting of four man-made coral-shaped islands.
The resort is built with sustainability in mind and set within an expanse of landscaped gardens on a stretch of its own secluded white sand beach.
Amenities joining this resort’s seaview rooms, suites and chalets include two beachfront restaurants, a garden restaurant and rooftop sunset terrace with 360-degree views, as well as a kids club, fitness centre, ballroom and spa.
The 361-key Movenpick Hotel Centaurus Islamabad will then be the focal point of the new upscale mixed-use development, Centaurus Mall, in the city’s business district.
This will be the closest internationally branded upscale hotel to the existing Benazeer Bhutto International Airport and new Islamabad International Airport (Gandhara).
Extensive amenities within this property are to include five restaurants, separate male and female wellness facilities, a swimming pool and expansive meeting and event facilities.
