The upscale lifestyle brand of Minor Hotels, Avani Hotels & Resorts, has announced the debut of two exciting new hotels in Europe.

Marking its entrance to Italy and Spain, the brand has launched both Avani Alonso Martínez in Madrid and Avani Palazzo Moscova in Milan.

Entrance to Europe

In line with the brand ethos, the new Avani Alonso Martínez and Avani Palazzo Moscova have been designed with millennial travellers in mind, combining smart, flexible and social spaces with hand-picked experiences that immerse guests in the local culture.

Each hotel is curated to fit the preferences of digital nomads and bleisure travellers with amenities including convenient grab-and-go dining options and state-of-the-art AvaniFit gyms.

These two exciting openings signify the hospitality brand’s expansion into Europe. Additional Avani properties are set to make their debut in cities across Italy and Germany over the coming months and the brand is entering the Netherlands next year.

The brand will also make its entrance to South and Central America this year with openings in Colombia and Mexico.

Spanish inspiration

In Spain, Avani Alonso Martínez places guests just steps from the central square it takes its name from, in a building dating back to 1919 that combines its historic architecture with fresh contemporary design drawing on the locale.

Guests are met at the entrance of this 101-room property, which has been fully renovated, with a lobby displaying its connection to the city, such as signs displaying typical Madrileño expressions, and guest rooms feature locally inspired elements including bed-covers with a pattern that’s reminiscent of the print worn by chulapos and paintings that depict local festivities.

Guests can uncover their surroundings through a series of experiences ranging from Segway adventures to lesser-known spots to private dinners in hidden galleries and glow-in-the-dark painting workshops bringing locals and tourists together.

Italian influence

The Italian debut, Avani Palazzo Moscova in Milan, then takes over the neoclassical building that was Milan’s first railway station, between the Porta Nuova and Corso Como districts. The 65-key hotel blends this history with a modern, minimalist aesthetic, altogether providing a haven of comfort and tranquillity.

Amenities within this hotel span The Pantry and AvaniFitgym, as well as AmaTiSpa, which is located within the original vaults of the former railway station and home to facilities including a sauna, hammam and Jacuzzi. The signature seafood restaurant, Forte Milano, offers Mediterranean-inspired dishes highlighting flavours of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The guest experience here includes activities such as ‘nonna-approved’ pasta-making classes, a tour of the city in a restored 1971 Fiat 500 and a private shopping tour.
