Accor is strengthening its ongoing partnership with Romanian company Construcții Erbașu by signing management agreements for two new hotels in Bucharest and Oradea.

In the first instance the two companies will jointly develop the new Novotel Living Bucharest Baneasa.

Living debut

With Novotel Living, Accor brings the concept of extended stay to the Bucharest market. The latest construction started in Q3 2023 and the 150-room hotel is scheduled to come to market in June 2025.

The future hotel will offer different room types with kitchenettes and a flexible space to work. The ground floor will be a living social hub, to eat, drink, meet and socialise. Other facilities include an all-day dining area, a cinema room, modular meeting space, a fitness room, a large parking area and an external green space.

Ibis addition

The partnership with Construcții Erbașu also includes the construction and operation of a 120-room ibis Styles in Oradea.

Construction works will start in Q1 2024 and the property is set to welcome its first guests in 2026.

Local landmarks

Maria Drăgulin, Accor’s development director of premium, midscale and economy brands in southeast Europe, said: “The growth of our successful partnership with Construcții Erbașu is testimony of Accor’s unwavering commitment to enhance the growth of local hotel owners and investors and to contribute to the design and delivery of exceptional hospitality projects that match the needs and expectations of today’s travellers and bring value and notoriety to their respective destinations.

“As we embark on a new stage of our common journey, I am confident that the properties we are announcing today will become landmarks for their areas and bring new standards of quality and service within their segments.”

Spotlighting investments

Cristian Erbașu, CEO of Construcții Erbașu, added: “This announcement marks the growth of our hospitality portfolio and reinforces the pledge we made five years ago, when we launched ibis Styles Bucharest Erbas, honouring the legacy of our first hotel and taking its story further.

“Accor group has been a reliable partner for us in this endeavour and we are happy to expand our collaboration. With Accor’s gallery of powerful and iconic brands and its strong marketing and distribution channels, we bring our investments to the spotlight and pin them to the map of international travellers.”
