Hyatt is bringing its Hyatt Regency brand to Armenia, as the country attracts international hotel brands to its growing tourism offer

Hyatt Hotels has signed an agreement to launch its Hyatt Regency brand in Armenia, adding another country to its global portfolio.

Hyatt Regency Dilijan is being planned with investment and development partner Green Rock LLC, and will have 205 rooms and suites. It will feature a conference centre, and facilities include a helicopter landing pad.

Armenia Builds Its Tourism Offer

Dilijan is an inland region within Armenia, with mountain landscapes and national parks to experience. The area is growing in importance as a tourist destination, with Green Rock having broader plans alongside the hotel, with projects around hospitality education, a music hall and art park in the town. The destination is a 90 minute drive from Yerevan, the country’s capital.

“This announcement marks an exciting milestone for both Green Rock and Armenia,” said Katerina Danekina, CEO of Green Rock.”Together with Hyatt, we aim to create more than a hotel – we aim to help shape a destination that will attract visitors year-round while supporting tourism, culture and the local community.”

Hyatt is building a number of other Hyatt Regency hotels across the region. These include Hyatt Regency Tirana, opening in Albania in early 2027 close to the city’s upcoming National Arena. It will be followed by Hyatt Regency Tbilisi, a 170 room property in the capital of Georgia, due to launch in late 2028.

Hyatt is among the vanguard in launching internationally branded hotels in Armenia, a market with much potential yet to be realised. The country currently welcomes close to 2.5 million visitors a year, and many of those base their trip out of the capital, Yerevan. In the first quarter of 2026, visitor numbers were reported up 18.2% year on year, with a target of 3 million arrivals now appearing in reach. Around 40% of the total is accounted for by visitors from nearby Russia.

Among other brand groups making headway in the country is Accor. The group recently opened the Movenpick Hotel Yerevan, and in early 2027 will add Movenpick Resort Tsaghkadzor, a 198 room hotel in what is the country’s most popular skiing destination. In the same destination, Accor will also open Mercure Tsaghkadzor around the same time.

Brands Land in the Country

Back in Yerevan, Accor is also working on development of Pullman Residences and Living Yerevan, a 150 room hotel due to open in early 2027. The project will combine a regular hotel with a series of residences, designed to support business visitors staying for longer periods in Armenia.

Kempinski is also making an early move to establish its presence in Armenia. It is preparing to launch the Artlife Kempinski Residences Yerevan, a 50 unit luxury development. Local partner Renshin Urban Investments is completing the project, which will include a luxury spa and linked retail and restaurants. Kempinski has also signed another hotel in the country, the 150 room Kempinski Hotel Yerevan, which is expected to open in early 2030.

Please note: Information regarding project details—including but not limited to opening dates, room counts, and branding—for hotels under development can change as projects progress.
