The Ruby Group has signed its first-ever hotel project in France. The hotel is set to open in Marseille at the end of 2025.

This 237-key property in the heart of Marseille will embrace the Lean Luxury philosophy The Ruby Group has become known for.

Making its entrance to France

The Ruby Group has announced plans for its first hotel in France. BNP Paribas Real Estate is set to launch this highly anticipated property in the heart of Marseille on the country’s Mediterranean coast.

Julian Mörs, Group Director Development at Ruby, said: “France has always been a top target for Ruby and we are very pleased that Marseille will be the first French destination for our brand. The city offers a thriving hotel market based on strong demand for business and leisure travel alike, and thus harbours the huge potential for our concept.”

Antoine Mabilon, Deputy Managing Director at BNP Real Estate Property Development, added: “BNP Paribas Real Estate has been studying hotel projects – mostly low-carbon footprint conversions of existing assets – with Ruby Hotels for several years and we are extremely pleased that everything is on track for the opening of the Ruby Marseille, with more to come. Their technical expertise, professionalism, and reactivity, their covenant strength as a tenant and operator makes them an ideal partner.”

Bringing Lean Luxury to Marseille

This new hotel will accommodate guests in 237 rooms and offer an adjoining workspace of approximately 1,000 sqm as well as public areas including a 24/7 bar with 300 sqm rooftop terrace commanding views over the city and sea.

The property will take over a former office building located just minutes from the coast on Boulevard des Dames. The Ruby Group is known for its conversion of existing sites. The group’s Lean Luxury philosophy will ensure this hotel combines its outstanding location and design with all the essential amenities and affordability.

Owing to its city centre location, the hotel will place guests between the old harbour and La Joliette/Euroméditerranée business district. From here, guests will have easy access to the old town district of Le Panier and all of the city’s cultural sites. Joliette metro station is just a three-minute walk away.
