Rosewood Hotel Group is looking forward to another busy year of openings. During 2025, it will launch hotels in China, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Qatar, the UK and USA.
Rosewood has been busy signing new properties to the brand, and currently has more than 30 sites in its development pipeline. Alongside its hotels, the luxury brand is also keeping pace with its peers in the development of growing numbers of branded residences, a global phenomenon for hotel and lifestyle brands.
Expanding across the globe
“The launch of new properties in seven countries across three continents is a significant milestone for Rosewood,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “This underscores our quality growth strategy that is deliberately curated, focusing not merely on quantity but on selecting landmark properties that truly embody our brand’s ethos.”
The first Rosewood property in Japan will be Rosewood Miyakojima. The elegant retreat will blends local nature, culture and craftsmanship to ensure guests enjoy a unique atmosphere, something very different from a regular luxury Japanese hotel.
Midyear will see the launch of Rosewood Amsterdam, created within the former Palace of Justice building. Set within the central canal district of the Dutch city, it will deliver luxury within a historical setting.
Into the second half of the year, Rosewood Doha will open, in Lusail. And the brand’s fourth property in Mexico will also launch, with the addition of Rosewood Mandarina. Sited on the west coast of the country, in the Riviera Nayarit, it will present guests with the option of visiting three different environments, from the beach to the flatlands and the mountains.
In London, a second hotel is coming with Chancery Rosewood scheduled for a launch later in 2025. The Mayfair property has been created within the landmark former US Embassy building, itself a modern architectural landmark in Grosvenor Square.
In Los Angeles, the group is finalising construction of its first standalone branded residences. Rosewood Residences Beverly Hills will feature just 17 ultra-luxury homes, with up to 7,000 sq ft of internal space, and some having their own swimming pools.
Growing the New World brand
Of its 48 open hotels, Rosewood’s portfolio has 16 properties trading under its second brand, New World Hotels & Resorts. This upper upscale brand is growing its scale across Asia Pacific markets. During 2025, it will open New World Jinzhou Hotel, a joint venture with Rezen Group, a subsidiary of Trip.com. Also in development is New World La Plume Niseko Resort, a 224 room hotel being constructed on a site between Mount Yotei and Mount Annupuri in Hokkaido.
Looking further ahead, the Rosewood brand is set to appear in many more parts of the globe. Upcoming resort developments have already been signed in the Maldives, Barbuda and Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea development. And urban hotels will be coming to Seoul, Ningbo, Shanghai, Rome and Milan.
