The upper-upscale Radisson Blu brand has made its first foray into Canada with the opening of a sleek 157-room property in the heart of Toronto.

Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown brings a unique experience to the centre of one of Canada’s most important cities. Formerly the Radisson Admiral Toronto-Harbourfront, the existing hotel has undergone a comprehensive upgrade ahead of its relaunch under the Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown moniker.

Radisson Blu on the expansion trail

Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown promises to be the first of four exciting scheduled openings by the fast-growing brand before the year is out – further hotels are due to launch in Anaheim, California; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and Fargo, North Dakota in the coming weeks.

Aly El-Bassuni, chief operating officer for the Americas at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “As the world gears up to travel again, we are accelerating the growth of the Radisson Blu brand with a series of openings starting with Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown, which also marks the brand’s entrance into Canada.

“This hotel expertly highlights the vibrant and energetic local cultures of the city while simultaneously delivering a restful stay and a memorable guest experience. We look forward to further expanding Radisson Blu in the Americas and providing our loyal guests more beautiful hotels to visit in top destinations.”

A convenient location in Canada’s largest city

The new Radisson Blu hotel is conveniently situated in the bustling downtown area of Toronto, with convenient access to many highlights and attractions, such as the Rogers Centre, Scotiabank Arena, CN Tower and Hockey Hall of Fame.

“We are so proud to bring the Radisson Blu brand to Canada,” said Nathalie Lalonde, the hotel’s general manager. “Joining this phenomenal portfolio of hotels allows us to fully express our identity as a premier local destination for anyone seeking an authentic Toronto experience. Our dynamic and inviting hotel allows guests to truly connect with our city, while enjoying state-of-the-art amenities and exceptional hospitality.”

There are a number of F&B outlets within the hotel, including the Watermark Restaurant, which will be fully operational in 2021, serving traditional Canadian cuisine; a grab-and-go lobby market; and the Lakeview Pool Lounge. In addition, business guests can avail themselves of the property’s 12,000 sq ft of flexible meeting space, and both corporate and leisure visitors are welcome to work out at the state-of-the-art fitness centre onsite.
