Further reinforcing its presence in Oman, Deutsche Hospitality is aiming to open a newbuild IntercityHotel property in Muscat in late 2022.
The 285-room upscale hotel will be a key part of a forthcoming mixed-use development defined by its striking circular design, which is also to house a business centre and the Institute of Public Administration’s headquarters.
Making a mark in Muscat
Following on from the brand’s two operating hotels in Oman – IntercityHotel Salala and the August 2020-opened IntercityHotel Nizwa – this is the first IntercityHotel to have been developed in the capital Muscat.
The newly built hotel will house 285 guest rooms and suites across its six floors, with an interior-design concept reflecting the latest generation of IntercityHotel properties.
The IntercityHotel Muscat experience
Catering for both business and leisure travellers, the hotel’s amenities will include a restaurant and bar, a fitness centre and a swimming pool, along with 340 sq m of conference space comprising three event rooms.
Time here can be spent exploring nearby sites like Royal Opera House Muscat, Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Al Alam Palace. The city is known for its mix of high-rises, upscale shopping and historic landmarks, as well as the bustling Muscat Harbour.
Currently under construction, IntercityHotel Muscat is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Many TOPHOTELNEWS articles draw on exclusive information from the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database. This subscription-based product includes details of thousands of hotel projects around the world, along with the key decision-makers behind them. Please note, our data may differ from records held by other organisations. Generally, the database focuses on four- and five-star schemes of significant scale; tracks projects in either the vision, pre-planning, planning, under-construction, pre-opening or newly opened phase; and covers newbuilds, extensions, refurbishments and conversions.
In next-generation IntercityHotel properties, guests will find everything they’d expect of a modern city hotel.
