Independent hotel collection brand Preferred Hotels & Resorts added 19 properties to its global portfolio during the first quarter of 2025.
The additions range from coastal retreats to mountain escapes, each featuring the hallmark characteristics of the Preferred brand, offering a combination of personal service and unforgettable experiences. They will add more inventory across 12 different countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Italian landmarks join the collection
In Italy, there are three new arrivals including the Armani Hotel in Milan, The First Musica in Rome, and the Bellerive Lifestyle hotel in Salo. While in Spain, new signings including the Hotel Convent de la Missio in Palma de Mallorca. This adult-focused boutique hotel has been created within a former convent dating from the 17th century, located in the narrow streets of central Palma. With just 27 rooms for guests, the hotel features a rooftop terrace, solarium and spa, with fine dining in a restaurant managed by Michelin starred chef Marc Fosh.
In Asia, The Archipelago is joining Preferred’s Lifestyle Collection. The beachfront destination is located on the shores of Wushih Harbour in Taiwan, overlooking Guishan Island. A modern, minimialist design, it has 285 rooms with balconies offering great views, while the restaurant offers gourmet dining with a strong local seafood choice. The hotel also features a thermal club, with relaxing waters drawn from deep underground.
Preferred curates its properties under four collections, each with distinctive characteristics. Legend aims to deliver the ultimate in luxury and service, delivering a truly legendary stay. LVX focuses on strong locations, plus sensational spas and great choices for dining. Lifestyle delivered approachable luxury, with stylish accommodation in chic and engaging properties. And finally, Preferred Residences is for those seeking something other than a hotel stay, perhaps looking for a more family-oriented choice, or an apartment that will suit a longer stay in a destination.
“This strategic expansion in 12 countries highlights our commitment to providing a diverse range of luxury experiences that cater to every type of traveler,” said Preferred CEO Lindsay Uberroth. “It serves as a strong foundation for continued growth and momentum throughout the year.” To support the new arrivals in gaining momentum within the Preferred ecosystem, members of the I Prefer loyalty programme will earn a points bonus from booking their first stays.
A variety from coast to mountains
Elsewhere in Europe, the Adronis Luxury Suites, opening in May on the cliffs of Santorini is joining the Legend Collection from launch. With just 39 suites and villas, the hotel promises great views, hotel tubs and infinity pools. And in Austria, the Edelweiss Salzburg Mountain Resort will also be joining the group’s Lifestyle Collection.
Additions in the Americas include the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, plus the Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville. A 168 room resort in the famous Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, its centrepiece is the restored Birdwood Mansion. And in Brazil, the NOR Hotel & Spa will join as a Lifestyle property, set in the Itapentinga Mountains just outside Sao Paulo. Its 33 suites have a Nordic style, with excursions including a wine route through local vineyards.
