Mandarin Oriental opens in Bali

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will manage a luxury Bali resort with private residences on the Indonesian island’s southern Bukit peninsula.

A new frontier in wellness

Mandarin Oriental, Bali is set to open in 2027 and will comprise a cliffside plateau of elevated terrace with dramatic panoramic views of the Indian Ocean with direct access to a white sand beach. 

The resort will include infinity pools and cliff-edge dining with wellness experiences. Food and beverage options include a cliff-edge restaurant and bar, a speciality Chinese restaurant, a speakeasy bar, and a beach club. 

The space will also be available for weddings and events, with a cliff-front lawn providing the perfect backdrop.

An all-inclusive Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer the most comprehensive range of wellness, beauty and massage treatments available in the region. Spa-goers will enjoy Mandarin Oriental’s signature programmes and specifically developed treatments inspired by Balinese traditions and customs. 

Further facilities include significant heat and water therapies, outdoor swimming pools surrounded by several private lifestyle cabanas, and an extensive fitness centre with outdoor space for yoga and other wellness options.

Additional leisure experiences are a dedicated Kids Club, tennis courts, padel courts, a beach club with water sports, an organic garden and a sustainability lab.

Crafted by Design Lab architects and renowned interior designer Jeffrey Wilkes, with landscaping by Bill Bensley, this contemporary resort carefully integrates Balinese heritage with Mandarin Oriental’s attention to detail.

The project is a collaboration with local real estate developer Harmoni Bali. Our vision is to create an award-winning resort experience that will become a sought-after destination.”

Comprising 110 generously appointed suites and villas, the property will offer private terraces or gardens, with most featuring private pools. 

The resort is situated adjacent to Bukit Pandawa Golf Course and is just minutes away from the prestigious Bali National Golf Club.

Focus on branded residences

Mandarin Oriental’s branded Residences will provide 68 private villas, ranging from 3 to 6 bedrooms, set on an 8-hectare site positioned above the hotel. 

Owners of these private homes will have access to a dedicated clubhouse, featuring lounge facilities, coworking area, function spaces and family zones, as well as a private gym and swimming pool. 

Residents will also have access to the resort facilities.

The hotel is 30 minutes from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, and 30 minutes from the popular tourist destinations of Jimbaran, Uluwatu and Sanur.
