Hyatt Hotels Corporation has revealed plans to launch a pair of East London hotels with a total of 352 rooms in Q2 2022 following completion of a major renovation project.

Hyatt Regency London Stratford and Hyatt House London Stratford will be the latest addition to the Chicago-headquartered hotel company’s portfolio in the UK capital.

New arrivals in Stratford

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has entered into management agreements with Stratford City Hotels, a wholly owned subsidiary of M&L Hospitality, to debut Hyatt Regency and Hyatt House hotels in the Stratford area of London. The duo are expected to open in the second quarter of 2022 after an extensive refurbishment of an existing property.

“The addition of these two hotels will be another exciting step in growing Hyatt’s brand presence in the United Kingdom and in creating a network of hotels across the key commercial and leisure markets in the country,” said Felicity Black Roberts, vice president of development Europe, Hyatt. “We worked closely with M&L Hospitality to choose the right brands for the location and are pleased to be continuing our relationship with them following the successful openings of Hyatt Regency Manchester and Hyatt House Manchester in 2019.”

“We are pleased to be able to continue our work with Hyatt in the United Kingdom,” said Neil Maxwell, chief executive officer of M&L Hospitality. “Our strategy focuses on identifying key gateway cities with strong economic growth. Stratford is experiencing a real boom and our plans to introduce these Hyatt House and Hyatt Regency hotels to London will capitalise on this.”

Two different hospitality experiences

The 225-room Hyatt Regency London Stratford is being designed with productivity in mind. Aimed at both business and leisure travellers, it’ll feature a spacious restaurant, a bar, an open-air terrace and 6,673 sq ft of meeting space.

The 127-room Hyatt House London Stratford, meanwhile, will cater for extended stays, accommodating guests in modern apartment-style suites with fully equipped kitchens and flexible workspaces.

Located within Westfield Stratford City, one of Europe’s largest shopping and entertainment complexes, the properties will provide easy access to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as well as Stratford’s station, which connects directly to central London. Moreover, London City Airport is just a 20-minute journey away and, on opening later this year, the new Queen Elizabeth Crossrail line will provide a speedy link to Heathrow Airport.

Stratford is burgeoning as a destination in its own right with various developments currently underway, including the BBC’s new music studios and V&A East.
