Hilton Worldwide’s flagship brand is set to enter Albania, occupying a well-located property in the heart of the country’s capital Tirana.
A new Hilton Hotels & Resorts-branded property will open in Tirana towards the end of 2023. We find out what’s being planned for this milestone hotel.
Hilton sets its sights on Albania
Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement to launch Albania’s first Hilton Hotels & Resorts property, the 174-room Hilton Tirana. The hotel will be owned by Kastrati Residences, a subsidiary of Kastrati Group.
“Having opened our first hotel in Albania in 2018, we’re extending our portfolio with the introduction of Hilton Tirana,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development in EMEA for Hilton. “Partnering with exceptional owners like Kastrati Group has led to enormous momentum across Europe, with nearly 450 hotels trading and a pipeline of 220 properties in development.
“Tirana is undergoing a transformation into a thriving metropolis, and we see great potential in this rapidly developing city. Albania saw visitor numbers increase by more than 70% between 2014 and 2019.”
“We look forward to working with Hilton to bring its prestigious flagship brand to Albania for the first time,” added Shefqet Kastrati, president of Kastrati Group. “Tirana continues to attract growing numbers of visitors as it progresses in its ambition to become a ‘kaleidoscope metropolis’ and we look forward to working with Hilton on our inaugural project together.”
An invitation to discover Tirana
Hilton Tirana will encompass 174 guest rooms, including 18 suites, an executive lounge and extensive event space. Its facilities will include a spa, indoor pool and fitness centre, plus a rooftop pool and lounge offering striking views of the Skanderberg Mountains.
Located on Italia Square, Hilton Tirana will be a short walk from popular attractions such as Et’hem Bey Mosque and Skanderbeg Monument. This hotel will also provide convenient access to the city’s government buildings and financial centre – within easy reach of Tirana’s train station and Tirana International Airport.
Hilton Tirana represents Hilton Worldwide’s latest foray into Albania. The Virginia-headquartered hospitality giant opened Hilton Garden Inn Tirana in 2018.
