Hilton announces plans for Curio Collection beach resort in Lagos

Koko Beach Resort Ilashe Lagos, Curio Collection by Hilton is expected to open in 2025 as the first internationally branded resort on this Atlantic coastline.

The third Curio Collection hotel in Africa, this forthcoming property will bring the brand’s signature curated hospitality experience to Ilashe beach on Nigeria’s coast.

Africa brand expansion

Hilton has announced the signing of the 60-key Koko Beach Resort Ilashe Lagos, Curio Collection by Hilton during the Africa Hospitality Investment Forum, with the signing itself taking place at the soon-to-open Kwetu Nairobi, Curio Collection by Hilton hotel.

The new resort will be developed in partnership with Outposts Investment Limited to bring authentic hospitality drawing inspiration from the surroundings to the sandy beaches of this coastline.

“Koko Beach Resort Ilashe Lagos represents Hilton’s third Curio Collection property in Africa, joining the already operating Legend Hotel Lagos Airport, Curio Collection by Hilton and the soon-to-open Kwetu Nairobi, Curio Collection by Hilton. We look forward to welcoming guests to an authentic hospitality experience backed by Hilton’s globally recognised service at this outstanding property.”

A coastal getaway

On opening, the resort will host guests in a collection of suites and three- to four-bedroom villas offering sea views and providing access to the resort’s private beach. This accommodation will be joined by three restaurants, a lounge and lobby coffee shop as well as an outdoor pool, gym and spa.

Additional amenities across the property will then include water sports facilities, horse stables, a cinema, sports complex and event space including a 750-person ballroom.

The resort will be located on the coastline stretching from Badagry Creek lagoon to the Atlantic Ocean, close to Snake Island, and is named after the coconut tree, which is often referred to as the Tree of Life.

The resort will be accessible by helicopter or boat from Southern Lagos. A 30-minute shuttle service will also be available from docks in Lekki, Ikoyi and Victoria Island.
