Berlin based hotel group Amano has built a strong momentum, with a pipeline of more than 3,000 rooms to be added over the next three years.
Additions in key German destinations, plus other new hotels more broadly across Europe will ensure the Amano name is in front of thousands more travellers and guests. By 2028, Amano expects to open no less than eight more hotels. Sites are in major cities including Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, London and Munich.
Hotels that contribute to communities
Amano says its commitment is to create hotels that are much more than just a place to stay the night. It aspires “to combine stylish urban living with outstanding culinary and beverage concepts and vibrant meeting places for both guests and locals.”
The group’s strategy is to build clusters of hotels in key city destinations. In Berlin, for example, it already operates eight properties, with both hotels and aparthotel formats. There, it will add two more sites, one in City West and one at Oberbaum Bridge, with a total of 320 rooms.
Hamburg is a new strategic addition for Amano. The popular city is often a place where hotel brands like a multi-site presence, with Premier Inn and Motel One, for example, both having six hotels in the city. There, Amano will open three properties, totalling 512 rooms.
All three sites are either in planning or under construction already. The first of the hotels to open will be a 100 room development in the city’s Am Rodingsmarkt, already under construction and expected to complete in late 2026. Additionally, a 150 room project is planned in Steindamm. And the third development will be in Adenauer Allee.
Similarly, in Munich, the group already operates the Hotel Mid, and will be adding to its inventory in the city by opening a 277 room at Stachus in autumn 2026. And in Leipzig, a new 274 room hotel will open in 2027, complementing the Amano Home aparthotel already operating in the city.
“With our current growth of more than 1,500 rooms, we are setting a new, clear signal: we believe in urban hotel concepts that are more than standard — and we believe in the metropolises in which we invest,” said Ariel Schiff, Amano Group’s managing director. “We are excited to further establish our brand there while combining style, locality, and hospitality at a high level.”
Plans for international growth
Outside of the home German market, Amano has already built a presence in the UK capital, London. Expansion here is already under way, with a second hotel having 70 rooms joining the existing Hotel Amano Covent Garden. The Top Hotels database also records plans for a first property in the USA, being scoped out in the eastern seaboard city of Boston.
Amano was founded by by the Susskind, Schiff, and Rokeach families in 2009. From the start, their hotels have delivered accommodation alongside destination features such as rooftop terraces, and innovative gastronomic offerings in the bars and restaurants within the hotels.
