The boutique advisory and acquisitions firm has hired Zaharia, who has more than 25 years’ hospitality experience, as managing director of its Caribbean and Latin American region.
Luxury Hotel Advisors (LHA) has bolstered its ranks with the addition of a high-profile industry figure.
Future growth in the islands
In his new role as managing director in the Caribbean and Latin America for LHA, Stephane Zaharia joins a team collectively sharing decades of experience across management, ownership, operation, marketing and brand development, as well as hotel sales and acquisitions.
Carlos Lopes, co-founder of Luxury Hotel Advisors, said: “Stephane has an impressive background in the Caribbean with vast management expertise. He will play a key role in business development for LHA in the islands and beyond.
“With the addition of Stephane, we are well-positioned to assist our Caribbean and Latin American clients on multiple levels, including hotel sales and acquisitions as well as conversions and asset management.”
To date, LHA’s work in this region has included the management, repositioning and sale of Cap Juluca on Anguilla, the development of El Tamarindo on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, and the management of Biras Creek Resort in Virgin Gorda, the K Club on Antigua, and Las Alamandas and Costa Careyes in Mexico.
Proven expertise
Before joining LHA, Zaharia held the role of president and managing director of resorts and residences at Cuisinart Anguilla. During this time, he worked with the ownership family on day-to-day operations along with expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and the eventual sale of the property, now known as Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club.
In total, Zaharia has more than 25 years of hospitality experience, having begun his career with Hyatt Hotels Corporation North America. He later became hotel manager with Ian Schrager Hotels at Sanderson London, before his love for the Caribbean took him to Antigua to lead Carlisle Bay Resort, which he helped establish as an award-winning luxury resort.
