Radisson Hotel Group will introduce its premium lifestyle brand to Morocco after signing Casablanca’s Lincoln Hotel, which is set to undergo a major restoration programme.

One of Casablanca’s most impressive heritage buildings is to embark upon a new life under the Radisson Collection flag.

A landmark property

Radisson Hotel Group has signed a deal with developer Realites Group to open Lincoln Casablanca, a Radisson Collection Hotel in early 2025. As the name suggests, it’ll occupy the iconic Lincoln Hotel building on Mohammed V Avenue in the city centre.

This deal represents the ninth Moroccan signing for Radisson this year, increasing the number of hotels in operation or under development across the country to 11; the group aims to have 15 hotels here by 2025. It’ll also mark the debut of the company’s third brand, Radisson Collection, in Morocco.

Purported to be the city’s oldest hotel, the Lincoln Hotel was created by renowned French architect Hubert Bride in 1916 and to this day is known for its art deco heritage. Realites will now set about reviving this iconic hotel through a sensitive restoration that preserves the building’s stunning façade.

Yoann Choin-Joubert, CEO of Realites Group, the owning company, said: “One of the most important aspects of the Lincoln is its deep connection to the history of Casablanca. There is a very strong link with the local people and the city. At Realites, we are 100% committed to this demanding but exciting project, aimed at restoring the beauty of The Lincoln and its iconic façade.”

A new hotspot for the city

On completion, the hotel will encompass 120 contemporary guestrooms and suites, featuring touches reflecting the hotel’s identity and setting. These will be joined by a restaurant, lounge bar and inviting patio, as well as fitness and wellness facilities.

A highlight of the hotel promises to be the rooftop restaurant and bar commanding views over the city, and events will be hosted in 250 sq m of event space, leading out to an exclusive outdoor patio. From the property, guests will have easy access to attractions such as Casablanca Marina and Hassan II Mosque and be within walking distance of the tram line.

Ramsay Rankoussi, vice president of development in Africa and Turkey for Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are thrilled to be adding another property to our record-expanding portfolio in Morocco, and introduce the country to our lifestyle luxury brand, Radisson Collection. We are confident that our collection of three distinct brands will yield a positive performance in the market.

“Having identified Morocco as a key focus market in our African expansion strategy and Casablanca as a key priority city, there is no better choice for Radisson Hotel Group to open the first Radisson Collection property than Casablanca’s beloved historic hotel.”
