Taking the brand forward
Neil Palmer, the newly appointed chief operating officer at Six Senses, boasts 37 years of international hospitality experience, mostly gained at Starwood Hotels and Resorts where as senior vice president of operations in Asia Pacific he developed the company’s portfolio and oversaw the company’s pipeline in the region.
For his latest role, Palmer will drive the brand’s operations forward, supporting its celebrated blend of wellness, sustainability, emotional hospitality, crafted experiences and community. He’ll also look after the group’s collection of hotels, resorts and spas in 20 countries – and help bring to life the 34 signed schemes on its development slate at present.
Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, said: “With his boundless experience, energy and integrity, Neil is an exciting new protagonist in the Six Senses story as we continue to unite our vision of hospitality and reconnection in our places and spaces.”
A love of hospitality
Passionate about the hospitality business, Palmer followed his 25-year tenure at Starwood by becoming CEO and co-owner of premium luxury company Per Aquum Retreats & Resorts. In recent years, he’s also served as CEO of a company he co-established that specialises in global hospitality consulting and asset management, Elements HSC.
Palmer is a graduate of Westminster Hotel School in London and a fellow of the Institute of Hospitality UK. He spent his childhood in Kenya, Fiji and New Zealand, currently lives in the latter, and will now be based in Singapore.
“I am thrilled to be part of this amazing hotel company and global hospitality and wellness brand.” said Palmer. “I have observed with admiration the development of Six Senses over the past few years.
“I believe there remains massive opportunity in the industry space where Six Senses already plays a leading role. There is truly no better brand positioned to lead the way forward.”
