A peek into the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database reveals that Hyatt Hotels Corporation will open 150 hotels and 29,437 rooms this year, including stellar schemes from Grand Hyatt and Alila.

Across its portfolio of upscale and luxury brands, Hyatt Hotels Corporation is gearing up to launch eye-catching projects everywhere from the Middle East to South-East Asia.

Grand Hyatt Kuwait

The plans for this Grand Hyatt hotel were originally announced by Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Tamdeen Group in 2015. Now, the newbuild property is almost complete ahead of its opening in the second quarter of this year. The five-star hotel will be a significant part of 360 Mall, which brings high-end shopping, leisure and entertainment together under one roof.

A 261-room scheme, it’ll cater for business and leisure travellers, with four F&B venues and a range of meeting and events spaces. This exciting concept is being brought to life by CallisonRTKL, which also designed 360 Mall, and the interiors come courtesy of Meyer Davis Studio. Located seven miles from downtown, the site is within easy reach of several embassies, government ministries and Kuwait International Airport.

Alila Hinu Bay, Oman

The luxurious Alila Hinu Bay resort, which opens in early 2021, is located in Mirbat, a historically and culturally rich coastal town on the Arabian Peninsula, 87 km from Salalah International Airport. This property is envisaged as an ecologically sensitive luxury destination resort, with fabulous architecture from KGDMT Consulting and interior design from Blink Design Group. Expect a fusion of local architectural traditions and contemporary design, plus a lobby that’s set around a central water feature, featuring traditional limestone and artworks aplenty.

Stretching across 45 ha of beachfront, the resort will be home to 112 rooms and suites, along with swimming pools, leisure facilities, restaurants and children’s areas. Guests will be able to enjoy coastal cuisine at Seasalt, local produce at The Orchard and Middle Eastern treats in the Lobby Lounge before unwinding at Spa Alila or exploring the surrounding nature reserves and coastline.

Hyatt Regency Nha Trang, Vietnam

Positioned on the coast overlooking Nha Trang Bay, this new Hyatt Regency Hotel is close to April 2 Square and City Conference Centre, within easy reach of prominent sights like Long Son Pagoda, Nha Trang Cathedral and Po Nagar Cham Towers. On opening early this year, the newbuild property will become the Vietnamese city’s first Hyatt Regency hotel.

This hotel, part of a mixed-use development alongside retail and office space, will comprise 434 guest rooms, many of which have sea views. Other facilities will include a number of restaurants and bars, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and more than 12,000 sq ft of event space. Architecture for the stylish scheme, the result of a collaboration between Hyatt Hotels Corporation and AB Group, is by HB Design-Singapore.

Park Hyatt Marrakech

The long-awaited Park Hyatt Marrakech is part of the Al Maaden residential and leisure development alongside a spectacular 18-hole golf course. This 181-key resort, which is separated from the golf course by a water feature, will offer luxurious accommodation in a dramatic setting when it opens in Q1 2021.

Guests will be able to dine in a specialty restaurant, relax in a luxury spa, retreat to private villas – 45 of which have a fireplace and their own pool – and make use of Park Hyatt meeting residences. Moreover, private and formal gardens will add lush greenery to this headline-grabbing development.

Hyatt Regency Cairo West

As well as being the second Hyatt Regency-branded hotel in Egypt, following on from Hyatt Regency Sharm El Sheikh, this forthcoming property will mark Hyatt’s return to Cairo. The hotel is located within Pyramids Heights Business Park, close to landmarks like the Great Pyramids of Giza and soon-to-open Grand Egyptian Museum.

This hotel was created in partnership with ALDAU Development, with design input from Simeon Halstead Associates and Design Lab. Guests can expect 230 contemporary guest rooms and suites featuring nods to Egyptian culture, along with five restaurants, bars and lounges, a fitness centre, an outdoor heated pool and a casino. Events will be hosted in its seven meeting rooms, or in the grand ballroom, providing 4,628 sq ft of banqueting space.
