Quinta do Lago, the European luxury lifestyle resort, has announced its acquisition of Conrad Algarve.

Expanded luxury resort living

Conrad Algarve is home to 154 suites, 80 apartments, two villas and six restaurants and bars, including one Michelin-starred restaurant, as well as a luxury spa.

The addition of Conrad Algarve perfectly complements the resort’s existing portfolio, which includes 14 acclaimed restaurants and bars, sports hub The Campus, property services through Clube da Quinta, and three championship golf courses.

The resort’s golf courses were recently recognised as the World’s Best Golf Real Estate Venue at the 2024 World Golf Awards.

The Conrad Algarve acquisition was led by the Quinta do Lago team under the guidance of chief executive officer Sean Moriarty and chief financial officer Miguel Sousa

This historic acquisition, made to a fund managed by ECS, an asset manager backed by Davidson Kempner Capital Management, was supported by PLMJ, Quinta do Lago’s long-standing legal partner.

On the seller’s side, Uría Menéndez acted as legal advisor, while CBRE and Eastdil Secured handled the transaction brokerage.

This acquisition of Conrad Algarve aligns seamlessly with Quinta do Lago’s ongoing mission to enrich the lives of its residents and visitors by encouraging a lifestyle of wellness, luxury, and sustainability.

Residence opportunity

It opens the door to exciting new opportunities like residences; 80 high-end apartments featuring premium finishes and a concept designed for ease and sophistication. These residences offer a “lock-up-and-leave” lifestyle right on the doorstep of Quinta do Lago to provide quick access to the resort’s world-class amenities.

These properties will also join Quinta do Lago’s prestigious sales and rental portfolio, offering owners a chance to immerse themselves in the exclusive community and enjoy the convenience of one of Europe’s most desirable lifestyle destinations.

Over the years, the resort has invested more than €70 million into enhancing its guest experience, transforming itself from a primarily golf-centric destination into a dynamic, 360-degree lifestyle resort that appeals to a younger, more diverse audience.

The addition of the Conrad Algarve reinforces Quinta do Lago’s position as among the leaders of Europe’s luxury resorts, offering unmatched experiences across dining, wellness, leisure, and now elevated hospitality with myriad accommodation options, from 5* hotel accommodation and apartments to luxury villa rentals.

CEO of Quinta do Lago, Sean Moriarty, said: “As Quinta do Lago continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s most prestigious lifestyle and wellness destinations, this acquisition represents a transformative step forward for our brand.

“Bringing a property of this calibre into the Quinta do Lago portfolio aligns seamlessly with our dedication to luxury, and creating extraordinary guest experiences. The Conrad Algarve is the perfect addition to our well-established offerings, further elevating our reputation as a global destination for travellers seeking exclusivity.”
