As part of THP.News’ ongoing Project of the Week series, we’re spotlighting an ambitious new hospitality venture bringing a fresh blend of metropolitan energy and tropical flair to downtown Sarasota, Florida. The SOTA Hotel & Residences, part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, is set to transform the city’s skyline and hospitality scene with its modern design and top-tier amenities.
A new landmark for Main Street Sarasota
Scheduled to break ground this summer and open in 2028, the 16-story SOTA Hotel will be the first hotel located on Sarasota’s Main Street. It’s being developed by Trepp Development, led by Rodrigo Trepp, who is making his U.S. debut after 16 years of success in Bolivia. He’s partnered with Mike Ealy of Nassau Investments, codeveloper and financial partner, who is focused on delivering an “iconic” project.
SOTA will be managed by Commonwealth Hotels, bringing boutique luxury with global hospitality standards. The design team includes Sarasota-based Hoyt Architects and New York’s award-winning Andre Kikoski Architect, ensuring the hotel reflects both local charm and international style.
Kikoski describes the vision as “a downtown apartment with the feel of a gracious and spacious home,” aiming to elevate the area’s vibrancy while respecting Sarasota’s architectural identity.
Hotel features and guest amenities
SOTA’s new hotel will include 120 upscale guest rooms, blending comfort with refined design and service. Amenities will be shared with residents but remain fully guest-accessible:
- Two on-site restaurants offering unique local and international cuisine
- A stylish bar inspired by the iconic Four Seasons New York
- Resort-style pool and elevated terrace with city skyline views
- Upscale fitness center with modern equipment
- Concierge service for both convenience and personalization
- Private entrances and elevators separating hotel and residential access
Located at 1703 Main Street, the SOTA is more than just a hotel—it’s a new anchor for Sarasota’s eastern gateway, promising dynamic energy for visitors and locals alike.
