Our latest Project of the Week takes us to Sydney with another Caption by Hyatt hotel that’s set to open in late 2025

A new chapter for Caption by Hyatt

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has entered into management and related agreements with LFG Property to develop a Caption by Hyatt hotel in Sydney, Australia. This new development will mark the debut of the Caption by Hyatt brand in the country.

Located in Haymarket, a multicultural neighborhood at the southern end of the Sydney Central Business District, Caption by Hyatt Sydney will offer guests an experience that is grounded in the local community. Known for its diverse, vibrant, and welcoming atmosphere, Sydney is home to people from around the world. Guests at this luxury hotel are sure to feel immersed in both the local surroundings and thoughtfully integrated design.

David Udell, Group President of the Asia Pacific region for Hyatt, said, “We are excited to work with LFG Property Pty Ltd to bring the Caption by Hyatt brand to Australia for the first time. As a brand centered on enabling authentic connections and experiences for today’s tech-savvy traveler, this development will create an environment where guests and locals alike can feel at home, in a space that reflects the character of the community.”

Designed to reflect the local community and provide a space for guests and locals to connect, Caption by Hyatt Sydney focuses on creating an atmosphere where visitors can make the hotel their own. Some of the impressive hotel features and amenities are as follows:  

  • Room Count: 174 guestrooms
  • Interior Design: Eclectic design by Mitchell & Eades, featuring a contemporary-meets-urban industrial style
  • Connection: Social and dining spaces decorated with vibrant colors, textures, and hand-drawn art

  • Talk Shop: The hotel’s lively all-day lounge, which will serve as a workspace, coffee shop, eatery, grab-and-go artisanal market, and cocktail bar
  • Tech-Forward Features: Digital check-in and keys, as well as mobile-order food service
  • Nearby Attractions: Sydney Opera House (12–minute drive) and Darling Harbour (4–minute drive)

Caption by Hyatt’s growth reflects Hyatt’s broader expansion of its industry-leading lifestyle and leisure portfolio. Over the past five years, Hyatt has doubled the number of luxury rooms, tripled the number of resorts and quadrupled the number of lifestyle rooms in its portfolio.
