German apartment operator Limehome is expanding fast across Europe, signing its first properties in France

Limehome, a leading German serviced apartment operator, has revealed plans to expand its portfolio into France.

The group has signed two sites in the Paris metropolitan area, taking the Limehome brand into its twelfth European country market. The first of these sites, Paris Suresnes, is close to the La Defense business district, particularly suiting business travellers who will enjoy a short commute to the office. The property is being converted from an office use to provide 25 apartments, expected to open for guests from the autumn of 2025.

Building out a presence in France

A second building has also been signed in Versailles. Located in the old town, with an antique shop on the ground floor, the destination is sure to appeal to history enthusiasts, as it is also in walking distance to the famous Palace of Versailles. There, the refurbishment will deliver 19 units for rental.

“Our launch in France is another milestone for us,” said Limehome CEO Josef Vollmayr. “We see great growth potential in the French hospitality market for our combination of technology, design, and a seamless digital guest experience.” That potential is, in large part, down to the scale of tourism in France. Paris along recorded more than 52 million overnight stays in 2023.

Limehome delivers a flexible, efficient operating model, choosing to work with local property owners and landlords to deliver its subtly branded apartments. Each is fully equipped for a longer stay, with a choice to suit different styles. Guests benefit from a fully digitised interaction with Limehome, saving time and improving travel flexibility.

Limehome has more than 9,000 suites signed to its portfolio and pipeline, at more than 300 locations across Europe. The business was launched in 2018, starting with a team of just 10 and today works from offices in Munich and Madrid. Backers of the business include investors Picus Capital, HV Capital, and Lakestar.

During 2024, growth included the signing of 50 new suites in Amsterdam, as Limehome took on an existing property close to Amsterdam Sloterdijk station. The apartments are part of a mixed use development at the Ven Amsterdam building. Currently, Limehome operates three properties in the city.

Adding apartments in Prague

The year also saw Limehome enter its eleventh country, signing apartments in the Czech capital, Prague. An existing hotel property close to Wenceslas Square was refurbished to provide 49 long stay suites, opening before the year end. In Spain there were new properties signed in Barcelona, plus a thirteenth property in Madrid.

A year after launching the brand in Italy, during 2024 Limehome scaled up in the country, signing new properties in Verona, Milan, and Rome that took the portfolio to 250 units in across Italy. Additional pipeline properties were secured in central Athens, and in the Austrian cities of Vienna and Salzburg. All three locations are being prepared for opening during 2026.
