Indiana welcomes the much-anticipated Hotel Carmichael

Located a short half-hour drive north of Indianapolis, Carmel's quiet affluence has been further bolstered by the arrival of Hotel Carmichael.

Marriott International’s independent boutique brand Autograph Collection has landed in Indiana with Hotel Carmichael, a 122-room property with a cabaret venue created together with legendary musician Michael Feinstein.

Located a short half-hour drive north of Indianapolis, Carmel’s quiet affluence has been further bolstered by the arrival of Hotel Carmichael. More precisely situated adjacent to The Palladium, a concert hall in the city’s central downtown district, the upscale six-storey boutique property has been earmarked as a cultural and entertainment hub.

Elevating Carmel’s leisure offering

“Our unique property is a point of cultural and creative discovery in the heart of the centre of Carmel,” says Jamie Hopwood, the hotel’s general manager. “With stories to tell, Hotel Carmichael is set to surprise, entertain, and inspire with a storybook experience.”

Indeed, Hotel Carmichael‘s food and drink experiences have raised the city’s bar. There is Vivante, the signature in-house restaurant, serving approachable French fare elevated by titbits like truffles, French-press coffee and a robust wine selection; Adagio Lounge, the intimate lobby bar that centres around a grand piano and a wood-burning fireplace; and Feinstein’s, the hotel’s live music entertainment venue modelled after Feinstein’s/54 Below, a cabaret and restaurant in New York City.

An independent boutique offering in a vibrant location

Owned by CCC Boutique Hotel and managed by Coury Hospitality, the hotel is in keeping with Autograph Collection‘s independent spirit, with a distinct interior-design scheme that takes its cues, in part, from the work of 18th-century architect Robert Adam. As such, the mood is classical, accented with decadent details – like a chandelier in every room – and all the necessary in-room technology from complimentary wifi to iPhone docking stations, Amazon Echos and mini chillers.

In addition, the property boasts 4,498 sq ft of event space in total. When not indulging in the hotel’s amenities, guests can make the most of its location by exploring the pretty Monon Trail, not far from destinations like Sugar Creek Vineyard & Winery and Midtown Plaza, a vibrant revitalisation of the city’s old industrial area.
