Four Seasons Hotel Denver emerges from major revamp
Four Seasons Hotel Denver has reopened following a multimillion-dollar, seven-month renovation overseen by a design team from Marzipan.
This urban oasis in the Mile High City’s historic Larimer Square district has been completely transformed.
Locally inspired design
The original designers of the 2010-opened Four Seasons Hotel Denver, Marzipan, took inspiration from the city’s architecture, urban geography and vibrant social scene for the concept behind the renovation.
The Four Seasons-branded hotel’s modern and sophisticated interiors now exhibit a warm ambiance and livelier feel, with inspiration taken from the city and Rocky mountains woven throughout. Geometric and organic forms highlight the surrounding landscape, as well as the artistic urban centre.
Following a multimillion-dollar renovation programme, the property boasts newly remodelled guestrooms, suites, event space and public areas – including American steakhouse and bar Edge.
“We are thrilled to share that we have completed a seven-month renovation project and have reopened our doors to unveil our reimagined hotel and Edge restaurant and bar,” said Thierry Kennel, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Denver. “Our team is ecstatic to be back and you can feel the energy and excitement throughout the hotel – it’s wonderful to have our family together again, ready to welcome our guests back and provide an experience that can only be Four Seasons.”
Molly Dunn, senior designer from Marzipan, added: “During the renovation, we really wanted to balance the warmth of the existing architectural finishes with icy greys, midnight blues and snowy whites – mostly cooler tones that spoke to the mountains and clear-blue Denver skyline. While the original design of the hotel included darker features such as earthy, natural woods – these have been organically integrated into the new design, offering a palette and repetition of materials and colours that link all areas visually.”
A transformed hotel experience
Edge Restaurant, complete with new raw bar and private dining rooms, now offers a reworked menu.
“We are known as a steakhouse,” said Jessica Biederman, restaurant chef of Edge Restaurant and Bar. “Our custom-built dry-aged meat locker with procured world-class cuts combined with an unmatched preparation will ensure that we continue to impress our guests with our offerings. Along with my talented culinary team, we have developed a menu that also highlights unique seafood entrées, as well as vegan and vegetarian dishes, to ensure that each of our guests has a phenomenal dining experience.”
The lobby-level Edge Bar, meanwhile, has been expanded to include three bar areas: the Corner Bar for apéritifs, the original Edge Bar with al fresco patio and space for live music, and a third Edge Bar inside the restaurant.
Elsewhere, the trio of private dining rooms includes The Butcher’s Block, which has a custom-built butcher’s block dining table for tableside culinary demonstrations and a floor-to-ceiling glass-wall showcasing the talent in the kitchen.
These newly transformed venues are joined by the reopened spa and salon, as well as the reimagined banquet level incorporating 24,000 sq ft of event space, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing impressive views of downtown Denver.
