Anantara set to make a splash in the Seychelles

Luxury brand Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, part of Thai hospitality company Minor Hotels Group, is gearing up to make its debut in the Seychelles with the rebrand of an exclusive resort designed by Bill Bensley and Lek Bunnang.

Maia Luxury Resort & Spa will soon become Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas, it has been revealed. We find out more about the exciting plans ahead for this intimate 30-key property.

A dream come true in the Seychelles

Paradise does exist, and for loyal guests of Anantara, a new tropical getaway is almost visible on the horizon. From September 2020, the luxury brand will have its very own presence on Mahé, the largest of the Seychelles’ islands, in the form of Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas.

Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Minor International, said: “The addition of the iconic Maia Luxury Resort & Spa to the Anantara portfolio will mark the brand’s debut in the beautiful Seychelles islands and will represent an elevated level of luxury for discerning travellers in this corner of paradise. Without question, Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas will become one of Anantara’s flagship properties and joins our existing portfolio of stunning Indian Ocean resorts.”

A salubrious setting

Overlooking the sparkling Indian Ocean, the property enjoys a unique setting. Perched atop a peninsula that benefits from 30 acres of verdant forest and gardens, the resort is framed by the island’s granite rocks, and offers stunning views out over the Anse Louis Beach below.

The property comprises 30 separate 250 sq m villas, each offering a level of unparalleled luxury and exclusivity. Its Beyond All Inclusive concept affords guests near-endless privileges, including an array of dining options, yoga classes and 24-hour host service.

Luxury by design

Each villa boasts high thread-count linens and maxi-sized Hermès Bath Collection amenities, as well as a rainforest shower and an outdoor sunken bathtub with spectacular views.

Guests will further be able to pamper themselves at Anantara Spa, which offers a variety of treatments to rejuvenate body, mind and soul. Additional facilities include an onsite restaurant, pool bar, wine boutique and fully stocked fitness centre.
