Brought to life by Tierra Design and Spin Design Studio, Andaz Bali represents the first Asian resort for one of Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s most prestigious brands.
Bali’s sunny charms have just been raised a notch thanks to Hyatt Hotels Corporation, which has further expanded its global footprint with the debut of its luxury Andaz flag on the island.
A contemporary take on a Balinese village
Located in the charming village of Sanur along Bali’s south-eastern coastline, right next to the Hyatt Regency hotel, Andaz Bali features 149 guestrooms, including 18 Garden Villas and four Beach Villas, as well as a host of drinking and dining options.
“As we continue to offer our guests new and immersive ways to rediscover Bali, we are honoured to introduce the Andaz brand to Sanur, where Indonesia’s first Hyatt-branded hotel opened more than 40 years ago,” said David Udell, group president, Asia-Pacific, Hyatt. “Andaz Bali is our first Andaz resort in Asia, adding to the brand’s growing urban portfolio in the region, which includes Seoul, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Singapore, Tokyo and Xiamen.”
Among a lush, tropical landscape, the resort, inspired by its surroundings, is a contemporary take on a traditional Balinese village, unfolding over a cluster of low-rise red-brick buildings with a lively Village Square at its heart.
Here, you’ll find 2,540 sq ft of flexible social spaces, which can be set up for an array of creative gatherings and events, as well as four of the resort’s restaurants. Inspired by the shophouses in Denpasar’s Chinatown, diners can pick and mix from the casual collection of restaurants including Wok Wok, which serves up Asian and Indonesian crowd-pleasers, grilled meat from Fire Fox, roasts from Blue Oven, or sweet treats from Deli & Bakery. Elsewhere, Fisherman’s Club, the resort’s signature restaurant, is a modern take on a Jimbaran seafood dining experience with a sophisticated beach-club ambience.
Andaz Bali’s stylish guestrooms and villas
Spread across the verdant grounds, the guestrooms and villas are the work of Bangkok-based Tierra Design and Spin Design Studio in Tokyo, whose modern Balinese design has been revealed through locally sourced materials such as bamboo, andesite stone, marble and teakwood. Starting at 710 sq ft, each room has its own private balcony with views of either the garden, ocean or lagoon, while, a few steps from the beach, all of the 6,221 sq ft two-bedroom Beach Villas have their own private swimming pools alongside spacious living rooms and outdoor terraces, perfect for intimate barbecues.
Whether guests are looking to soak up the rays in a tranquil setting, or prefer a family-friendly option, Andaz Bali has three pools to choose from, while the resort’s wellness offerings come courtesy of Shankha Spa in the neighbouring Hyatt Regency Bali. Connected via a lovely flower garden, there’s a fitness room, a sauna, a steam room, hot and cold plunge pools, a yoga space and an adults-only pool, while the spa offers a range of Balinese-inspired treatments using local ingredients like sea salt, pearl powder, coconut oil and spices.
