Rosewood Hotel Group launches a relief initiative with the Emergency Assistance Foundation to support staff impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

With the global hotel industry being hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis, one may expect hotel companies to look out largely for their own survival.

However, despite the financial difficulties the current situation has put many groups in, those who can, are doing their part to support their staff and local communities.

Rosewood Hotel Group is one of these companies. They recently launched their Rosewood Raise relief initiative which will support struggling team members as well as medical staff and other frontline workers.

Rosewood Raise to help associates

In collaboration with the Emergency Assistance Foundation, a charity which assists companies with creating employer-sponsored disaster relief and hardship funds, Rosewood Hotel Group recently launched the Rosewood Raise Relief Fund.

This fund will help staff in corporate offices and managed hotels which were most strongly impacted by the current pandemic. Those who suffer from health-related difficulties will be prioritised.

Rosewood Raise to support local communities

Many Rosewood properties around the world have shown leadership in supporting the communities they operate in.

The Rosewood Miramar Beach in Santa Barbara, California, for example, has already served over 1,500 meals to essential workers including firefighters, waste handlers, and grocery store staff, among others.

The brand is also supporting medical workers in many ways. The New World Hotels & Resorts properties in Wuhan and Guiyang opened their doors to local medical teams while the hotels in London, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi prepare and serve meals for hospital teams.

“I have always believed that people are the beating heart of the hospitality industry,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group.

“Through Rosewood Raise, we wish to stand in solidarity and with gratitude for our associates, and in support of the local communities that are so deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our hope is that through this initiative we can provide assistance to our associates and communities who are facing serious hardship and let them know their Rosewood family is here to support them through this unprecedented time.”

Established in 1979, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has been welcoming guests to a world of refinement and sophisticated travel for over three decades.
