Extended stay specialist The Ascott is rolling out its Crest Collection internationally, with a string of new signings and openings.
In the last few months, the group has added more than 1,200 units to the Crest portfolio, with openings and signings across Asia and the Middle East. With these additions, Crest Collection is now represented in 11 countries and across 13 cities, a portfolio that adds up to more than 2,700 units.
Adding locations across Asia
In East Asia, the group has recently opened Hong Yuan Hotel by The Crest Collection, located in Haikou, Hainan Province. With 261 keys, the hotel features an interior with hints of the aesthetic of the Song Dynasty. This will be joined in 2026 by a further property in the Donghu New Technology Development Zone, in Wuhan – or as it is becoming known, Optics Valley.
Further ahead, Sen/Ka Tokyo by the Crest Collection will add to the brand’s presence in Japan. This property is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2029. The 92 room extended stay hotel will be part of a larger redevelopment project close to Tokyo Station in the Yaesu district. Once famed for its kimono fabric shops, the district’s history of craftsmanship will be woven into the interiors of this Crest property.
In Southeast Asia, the brand’s fourth property in the region is in final preparations for opening, in Thailand. La Clef Bangkok by The Crest Collection will join earlier openings in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. The new Bangkok addition will feature 115 serviced residences ranging from studios to two bed apartments, in a block featuring premium amenities including a swimming pool, fitness centre and residents’ lounge.
And in the Middle East, the growth of Crest Collection has seen the signing of the Al Mahra Resort, which will open in early 2027, to be followed in 2028 by the launch of the brand in Saudi Arabia. The Al Mahra Resort will be located on Marjan Island, and will feature 539 beachfront units in a resort format.
The Crest Collection was originally established as a European brand, opening its first property in 2016. La Clef Champs-Élysées Paris by The Crest Collection acted as the flagship, and there are now three properties in the French capital.
Curated guest experiences
One key part of the Crest Collection offering is a range of curated experiences, open to guests during their stays. Promising a story behind every door, these are tailored to the destination. In Paris, for example, residents at La Clef Champs-Élysées can enjoy hosted cognac tastings; tea tastings and flower arrangement workshops in Haikou connect with the local culture of the Song Dynasty.
The Crest Collection sits atop a range of extended stay brands operated by The Ascott, designed to suit different budgets and guest needs. These start with Ascott and Citadines, include the co-living concept Lyf, plus Oakwood and Somerset. Finally, the collection brands are Crest, with its luxury offerings, plus the Unlimited Collection featuring boutique hotel offerings.
