Julie Nestor will take on a key role as Hilton’s new marketing and e-commerce specialist.

Julie Nestor, former CMO for eBay Australia, takes post as e-commerce driver at Hilton in an effort to raise awareness and drive bookings.

Hilton has brought a former eBay executive in to drive traffic through its online sites and to push its marketing strategy in the Asia Pacific.

Julie Nestor will bring her experience as chief marketing officer at eBay Australia to bear on the role.

We find out more.

Julie Nestor joins Hilton in Asia Pacific

Hilton has made a significant appointment to its Asia Pacific team, which it has been steadily building over the past year to grow and enhance its operations in the region, with a specific focus on digital development and marketing.

Julie Nestor will come on board as Hilton’s new marketing and e-commerce specialist, leading the group’s digital marketing strategy and driving revenue through direct bookings. Nestor will also be responsible for creating awareness of Hilton’s extensive portfolio of brands with a view to attracting new customers.

Over the past 12 months, Hilton has focused on developing its in-house team in the Asia Pacific market and created internal “centres of excellence” by favouring specialist shops instead of full-service agencies.

Marketing experience at eBay

Nestor was brought on board because of her work at eBay, where she was the chief marketing officer for Australia. In this position, Nestor launched eBay Plus, the platform’s first paid membership programme.

This followed ten years working at American Express, where she executed the launch of Apple Pay’s first Australian service. She will now bring this experience in creating loyalty programmes to Hilton.

Kellyn Smith Kenny, chief marketing officer at Hilton, spoke of the appointment and Nestor’s expertise, saying, “Julie is a proven expert at building brands that customers love and I’m confident she will bring a fresh perspective that builds on our success and inspires guests to stay with Hilton’s nine brands. With a large portfolio of award-winning brands, Hilton is on a huge growth trajectory with so much potential in the region.”
