Already with a market leading position in Mexico, Grupo Posadas is now staking a claim for its place in the all-inclusive resort space

Posadas, the leading hotel operator in Mexico, is growing its presence in the all-inclusive beach resort niche through 2025.

The company will open new resorts with a total of more than 1,300 rooms during the year. These will include properties in Puerto Vallarta, Punta Cana and San Jose del Cabo.

Going all-in on all-inclusive

“Our experience in the all-inclusive resort space allows us to continue growing with confidence,” said Mauricio Elizondo, Vice President of Development at Posadas. “We’re introducing properties with unique concepts in key destinations – offering the market one of the strongest and most profitable platforms, backed by decades of hospitality expertise.

Listed on the Mexican stock market since 1992, Posadas has grown to a business with more than 180 hotels and resorts operating, totalling over 27,500 rooms in its portfolio. Its brands include the Fiesta brand family – Grand Fiesta Americana, Fiesta Americana and Fiesta Inn – plus Live Aqua, The Explorean, Gamma and one Hotel.

Over 60% of the company’s current pipeline are beach properties, as the group focuses on coastal expansion, and looks to markets outside its Mexican home market. The growth comes off a strong performance from existing Posadas hotels. In the last year, the company reported average occupancy of 76% at its beach resorts, with room rates 31% above its competitive set. Revpar was up 16% year on year, during the first quarter of 2025, thanks to strong demand and also underlining the group’s operational efficiencies.

The upcoming openings start with Fiesta Americana Nuevo Vallarta. This is a 229 room family-oriented resort in the North Hotel Zone of Puerto Vallarta, promising typical Mexican hospitality.

Then there will be the launch of a much larger resort, Fiesta Americana Funeeq Punta Cana. With 498 rooms, this all-inclusive property will open in autumn 2025, in the Uvero Alto beach area of Punta Cana. A comprehensive offer that will draw in families, groups and business travellers, there will be tailored experiences, featuring entertainment and wellness facilities.

Into early 2027 and Posadas will launch Live Aqua Los Cabos, a more intimate project that will include luxury residences. This hotel in San Jose del Cabo will be for adults only, offering great restaurants and stunning sea views from terraces overlooking the Sea of Cortez.

Delivering a great holiday experience

To identify its world class, all-inclusive resort offering, and make booking easier for international guests, Posadas groups 15 of its finest resorts under the marketing banner of La Coleccion Resorts. These provide great holiday experiences in locations such as Cancun, Punta Cana and Los Cabos.

Aside from its resort offerings, Posadas is also growing its urban hotel portfolio, with two projects under construction in Mexico City. Live Aqua Mexico City will have 75 rooms, opening in the historic city centre in late 2025. and Live Aqua Boutique will open around the same time in the city’s Polanco district, a much more intimate boutique property with just 31 bedrooms.
