Norway’s energy capital, Stavanger, had a growing need for high-quality hotels. Addressing this gap, the renowned architecture practice, Snöhetta, teamed up with Fritz Hansen to create the Clarion Hotel Energy.
Known for their design of the prize-winning Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, Snöhetta was commissioned to create a high-calibre hotel with exceptional architectural appeal. The result is a unique design with furniture exclusively from Fritz Hansen.
Fritz Hansen’s reputation for distinctive, forever-relevant design, exceptional craftsmanship and high quality made them the obvious choice for this project. The partnership proved fruitful owing to Fritz Hansen’s ability to echo architectural approaches in the interior.
Step inside the Clarion Hotel Energy to find a well-composed series of floating spaces characterised by white walls and natural materials, such as wooden floors and doors. Complementing the surrounds, the hotel features a range of Fritz Hansen furniture in natural materials, including wood, leather and wool – made to stand the test of time. A set of iconic Arne Jacobsen Egg™ chairs in butter-soft leather adorn the lobby area and set the first impression of luxury and style to all it welcomes inside.
All the hotel’s furniture, from tables and chairs to sofas, is customised to create a distinct Clarion look, feel and identity. Each piece’s personality brings subtle energy to each room and endows a warm Nordic aesthetic throughout the hotel. The iconic and ever-stylish Series 7 chairs are found throughout different hotel spaces, from conference rooms to the bar, its distinctive curves and enduring quality make it a true Nordic choice.
When distinctive architectural design and high-quality design furniture collaborate, the result is an unforgettable hotel experience. The project successfully expresses a unique personality for an exclusive hotel setting exciting new standards in high-end design.
