Prime locale within the grid
Melbourne Place Hotel will be located on Russell Street, in the thick of Melbourne’s bustling central business district. The 14-storey, 191-key property is designed to fit seamlessly with the city’s immediate built environment and respond to local characteristics of Melbourne.
Due for completion in August 2024, Melbourne Place Hotel will be a landmark development bringing together state-of-the-art accommodation, world-class dining experiences and boutique retailers.
Australia’s best and brightest on board
The hotel’s keynote restaurant, Mid Air, will be run by the Australian Good Food Guide’s Young Chef of the Year Nicholas Deligiannis. The restaurant will be situated on the hotel’s rooftop, offering diners an unparalleled view of the Melbourne skyline.
Former Jackalope Hotels Group General Manager Tracy Atherton will be heading up operations as the hotel’s Executive General Manager.
Ms Atherton said the hotel would “redefine the Paris end precinct of Melbourne”.
“Neighbouring the city’s best restaurants, bars, nightlife and retail, it will be the place to be, providing guests with a unique lifestyle and cultural experience situated among the best offerings in the city. It is the ultimate location to experience the pinnacle of Melbourne’s life and spirit,” she added.
Adding to the property’s pedigree, the director is Peter Crinis, former CEO of esteemed Crown Hotels, which runs some of the largest hotels and casinos in the country.
“We have set out to redefine expectations of hospitality at every touch point by bringing together a carefully curated, talented team of local creatives to ensure every facet upholds our vision of a destination that is ingrained as an eminent landmark, contributing in an enduring way to the folklore of the city,” Mr Crinis said.
Some of Australia’s most celebrated creatives, including architects Kennedy Nolan, branding operation Studio Round, James Richardson Furniture, and Mars Art Gallery have also pitched in for the project.
The rooms will also feature products from the famed Australian luxury cosmetics brand, Aesop.
