The stylish economy hotel brand known for its roadside properties is entering the UK with the upcoming opening of Super 8 by Wyndham Chester East.

The Super 8 by Wyndham brand strives to elevate the economy hotel experience with sleek accommodation and friendly service at an affordable price.

Expansion into the UK

The world’s largest hotel franchising company, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, is collaborating with one of the UK’s leading motorway service area operators, Roadchef, to bring the Super 8 by Wyndham brand to the UK.

The July-opening Super 8 by Wyndham Chester East will join a portfolio of nearly 2,700 Super 8 by Wyndham hotels in countries including the U.S., China, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Germany, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Dimitris Manikis, President Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said: “Today’s travellers want a quality experience but at an affordable price, which is exactly what Super 8 by Wyndham offers. It’s a brand that’s all about embracing the journey, helping guests rest up, refuel and tackle the open road ahead.”

“For that reason, Roadchef—a company known for leveraging innovation placing convenience and comfort at the heart of their business—is the perfect partner to help us bring Super 8 by Wyndham to the UK.”

Dan Sutton, Head of Hotels at Roadchef, commented: “Our long-term vision is to transform the way people experience road travel and roadside hotels. Business and leisure travellers alike seek convenience, comfort, and affordability, and we believe hoteliers need to cater to these modern-day guests and their evolving expectations.”

“Launching Super 8 by Wyndham in the UK is a step towards elevating and revolutionising the roadside hotel experience and we are proud to be a part of this transformation and continue to invest in delighting our guests.”

Flexibility and convenience

The 41-key hotel is opening following the extensive refurbishment of an existing property serving road travellers around the Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales areas in its convenient location just off the M56 motorway. This refurbishment is a part of Roadchef’s multi-million investment into upgrading its UK roadside hotels.

The interiors of Super 8 by Wyndham Chester East take influence from the new Super 8 hotels found across North America and Europe. Informed by research Roadchef took into UK travellers’ preferences, the hotel’s design incorporates enhanced convenience and flexibility of experience.

The new hotel is home to a variety of room types, including two-bedroom options with lounge areas, designed to provide a home-away-from-home experience with the latest in-room technology. Other amenities range from a restaurant and bar to on-site EV charging facilities.

Reflecting both companies’ commitment to the environment, the property is participating in the Wyndham Green Certification programme designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, conserve water and reduce waste.
