IntercityHotel Yangzhou Slender West Lake is only the second property to open under Deutsche Hospitality’s upper-midrange brand in China.

Deutsche Hospitality has teamed up with shareholder Huazhu to launch a new IntercityHotel scheme in eastern China.

IntercityHotel enters a new city

IntercityHotel Yangzhou Slender West Lake, the brand’s second outpost in China after Qingdao, sits in the upper-midscale sector of the market. It represents the latest step in Deutsche Hospitality’s plan to build up its international footprint; the IntercityHotel flag already has more than 40 properties across Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Oman and China.

“IntercityHotel is a brand which offers considerable potential for successful growth in China,” said Christian Kaschner, senior vice president, IntercityHotel. “It combines comfort and mobility with design and also provides an impressive mix of quality and diversity.

“This means that the new hotel will fulfil the requirements of the Chinese market. It will provide a perfect accommodation option to business and leisure travellers alike. We are delighted about this opening, which will also allow us to extend the presence of IntercityHotel in Asia in conjunction with our shareholder Huazhu.”

Combining German and Chinese influences

Located in Jiangsu province in eastern China, IntercityHotel Yangzhou Slender West Lake boasts 103 contemporary rooms that bridge the gap between German and Chinese cultures, traditions and design in their execution and offering. The property also features a restaurant serving German and Chinese dishes, a lobby bar, a rooftop terrace and a gym.

The hotel is conveniently located close to major transport hubs, including the region’s international airport and local train stations, and key tourist attractions, not least Slender West Lake National Park in the centre of historic Yangzhou.
