Accor division Ennismore has signed an agreement for a swift development for lifestyle brand Tribe in Bangkok.

The 272-key Tribe Bangkok Sukhumvit 39 will open its doors in the last quarter of this year, becoming the brand’s first site in Thailand.

Design driven

The design-driven hotel will open with 272 rooms and serviced apartments, combining cutting-edge style and comfort with the latest technologies. The serviced apartments are a premier for the brand and are designed for longer stays.

The Social Hub at the heart of the hotel will feature a café and flexible spaces for work or social interaction. The site will also house an all-day-dining restaurant and rooftop bar, and for wellness: a gym, swimming pool, and Onsen.

Great opportunity

François Leclerc, deputy brand COO at Ennismore, said: “With its dynamic culture that attracts modern travellers across the globe, the capital city of Bangkok is the ideal location to first introduce our fastest-growing lifestyle brand to Thailand. We see a great opportunity for a hotel with a unique personality and can’t wait to bring the playful lifestyle experience of Tribe to those seeking eye-catching design and outstanding comfort in Thailand’s capital.”

Khun Kajonsit Singasansern, CEO of the project’s developer, Siamese Asset Company, commented: “We are confident in Thailand’s position as a world-class tourism destination and we look forward to delivering world-renowned Thai hospitality in tune with the playful personality of Tribe. Delivered through the collective expertise of our joint venture partnership with leading international hotel management company, Kew Green Hotels, to form Siamese and Kew Green Management Company, we are thrilled to be bringing our multi-award-winning approach to offer a new lifestyle experience in the heart of vibrant Bangkok.”

Global Tribes

Ennismore has already signed 50 Tribe hotels and is aiming for rapid expansion with up to 100 addresses to open globally within the next five years, including in Phuket, Manila, and Singapore by 2025.

Highlights of the brand’s pipeline include the 200-room Tribe Bali opening in Indonesia in 2025, preceded by two Tribes in Auckland scheduled for 2024.
