Avvio’s ebook “Think like a Guest”

We check out Avvio’s latest initiatives including an eBook to improve guest loyalty and enhanced user experience in booking engines

The global hospitality tech provider Avvio has released a new eBook which offers hoteliers proven advice on how to boost brand awareness and delight guests from the moment they begin the booking process.

Titled Think like a Guest, the eBook highlights the need for hotels and others in the hospitality space to implement a multi-faceted, guest-centric approach when it comes to creating personalized user journeys across their digital platforms.

The end goal, of course, is to drive direct booking revenue.

The experts at Avvio have been researching and developing personalisation within hotel websites since 2009, culminating in the release of its AI booking engine Allora, following years of data collection and analysis.

In 2018, Avvio released multiple white papers, including The 6 Principles of Personalisation for Hotel Websites.

These demonstrate the best way to optimise a hotel’s digital profile and how to start proactively integrating AI into websites to take back market share from online travel agencies (OTAs).

The recently launched eBook marks the next evolution of Avvio’s commitment to supporting technology education within the hospitality sector.

Growing awareness of the importance of personalisation and the experience offered to guests in supporting greater channel shift to direct bookings is at this publication’s core.

On the release of the eBook, Avvio co-founder and CEO Frank Reeves said: “We know that being a hotelier can be tough and even more so with the constant evolution and digitisation of the sector. With Think like a Guest, we’re asking hotels and accommodation providers to question how their guests are engaging with their brand. It’s so important to start getting to know your potential guests from the first interaction they have with your hotel and then to continue to maintain that relationship by providing them with a personalised customer journey from that point onwards.

For those eager to learn more about optimising their hotel website, nurturing their existing customer base, capitalising on the latest AI technology or appealing to millennials, Avvio positions the eBook as a useful tool for providing an exceptional guest journey from the beginning.

Avvio champions user experience with new booking engine innovations

Avvio has also made innovative changes to its own award-winning booking engine, tapping the emerging field of artificial intelligence (AI) to help it drive revenue and guest engagement.

Part of this is through data-driven decision making. Based on data gathered from Avvio’s AI booking engine Allora, as well as from analysis of industry trends and best practices, the front-end design and functionality of the booking engine has been enhanced to provide a better user experience (UX) to enable an increase in direct bookings.

Avvio’s design and technical teams have also developed the new booking interface design to bring a range of benefits to the technology provider’s customers, including improved guest engagement and conversion rates.

Meanwhile, mobile optimization has also been a priority, one which has helped drive the UX changes to the platform. Avvio’s recent research has revealed a 42.5% increase in mobile bookings for its customers across Europe from 2017 to 2018.

With this in mind, the most recent updates are aimed at making the booking experience fully responsive and optimized for mobile users in order to ensure a seamless customer journey, regardless of the device guests are using to book through the company.

Other front-end changes made with guest user experience in mind include a greater visual emphasis on security, best rate guarantees and online review scores, as well as improved navigation throughout the booking path.
