DoubleTree Aberdeen Treetops sold

DoubleTree by Hilton Aberdeen Treetops has been acquired by 7 Hospitality for an unknown amount according to recent reports. The purchase will mean that 7 Hospitality now owns two hotels in the UK, the other being another DoubleTree property in Dundee, Scotland. The Aberdeen hotel has been sold by Oaktree Capital Management, who has handed over the management of the property to 7 Hospitality Management, who operate out of Dundee. The acquisition of this hotel will dovetail nicely into 7 Hospitality Management’s plans to open a leisure brand entitled 7 Health & Fitness towards the end of 2018.

DoubleTree amenities

The DoubleTree by Hilton Aberdeen Treetops is a landmark property in the Scottish city, providing some of the biggest spaces for events in the area. The 120 key hotel has many necessary business, conference and meeting facilities, and benefits from 12 meeting and conference suites which can accommodate around 800 guests, meaning that it is a serious asset to Aberdeen. The addition of the leisure center by 7 Health & Fitness will be “one of the first steps taken to tactically reposition the hotel and add value to the asset”, confirmed 7 Hospitality managing director Mohan Mulani. Director of 7 Hospitality Management Richard Ellison also added: “We are delighted to win this contract and confident that despite a tough hotel market in Aberdeen, we can demonstrate our dynamic approach will deliver the owners desired return on investment. We look forward to repositioning the hotel through the various skill sets we offer.”

DoubleTree in the UK

DoubleTree is in the process of making other moves in the UK following a partnership with Aprirose, a real estate investment company with whom they have entered into a franchise agreement. The deal will see a further five DoubleTree by Hilton hotels entering the UK market over the next few months and will be rebranded under the DoubleTree portfolio by the end of the year. The properties will be located in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Oxford, Glasgow, Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire and will be managed by RBH.
